I didn't know it was him either - It hasn't been on BBC News or in the Guardian, and I haven't seen any news anywhere else until now.

This! I see the MH issues are being used as some sort of defence and quite frankly I find that disgusting. People with MH difficulties have enough stigma without what Huw did being linked to it. He needs to own up to what he did

Just to add to the conversation that a number of degenerative illnesses can cause inappropriate sexual behaviour. It may not be the case, but while not disrespecting any potential victims, it’s possible that something of this nature may be going on if this is ‘out of character’.
Not that Murdoch would let that get in the way of a good salacious story.

This is NOTHING like So-vile!! So much bloody speculation with no evidence upon which to base it. Have none of you ever been wrongly, and publicly, accused? I was many years ago and it was fucking horrendous.

I'm not saying HE has been wrongly or rightly accused. I don't know. None of you know!!! I am simply saying that there are two sides to every story, and I just wish the fucking lynch mob would step back until the actual FACTS are known?!

I am totally shocked that a family man, a highly respected, talented and highly paid presenter, would have put himself in this precarious position. I'm also disappointed (though I probably have no right to be) that someone who was touted as a safe pair of hands, a broadcaster with sufficient gravitas/respect that he was trusted to announce the death of the Queen, the coverage of her funeral, and the Coronation, would have these skeletons in his closet.

It sounds as though his wife is on some level, sympathetic towards his predicament, no matter the personal cost to her and to their children - dear love her.

I wish people would just back the fuck off! The feral hunger for a name to be identified has been assuaged. Let it go!!

I am so shocked too! I'm.really hoping that this is all just made up. People cashing in after the Philip Scoffield incident.

But he shouldn't be in the public eye if that's the case as clearly he is a big risk to himself, family and members of the public he interacts with and clearly cannot do the role he did should he be suffering like that

Or it's just another excuse to try and get him off the hook that people would rather believe than him being capable of behaving badly

I believe from that I have read that is white life has said he will respond to the allegations when he is well enough.

So no admission or denial at this stage.

There is room for nuance here, you can think he’s behaved badly whilst still thinking the Sun has behaved horribly.

It depends. In his case, most likely not. I imagine he will be heavily sedated. I certainly would be.

Sometimes people would rather believe there's a reason that makes people victims of their actions than believe they are simply a character capable of them.

Well he’s hardly going to go to an NHS unit is he, let’s face it? For one thing there’ll be no beds. Pretty sure there’s next to no beds in private hospitals either.

I have been an in patient at both a Priory hospital (funded by NHS as there were no NHS beds) and a standard NHS psychiatric hospital. I keep seeing the words ‘posh clinic’ thrown about, but there really isn’t a lot of difference between the two.

Paddy Pantsdown anyone? Journalists had to go digging for sleaze back then, this man has handed them a scandal on a plate along with all the trimmings.
Thankfully we weren't exposed to the vision of Paddy Ashdown's bare bottom back then.
