I'm actually shocked.

A mental health crisis is still a mental health crisis, regardless of whether it was sparked by being caught being unfaithful or not.

Under virtually every social media posting about the mystery BBC presenter there's been the comment "Huw is it?" Good that it's finally out and dear god how long everyone managed to drag out the suspense.

How come his police investigation is over within days, when the average time to search a phone for indecent images by the police is over 12 months?

This, with bells on. On the strength of the current information available, it’s a storm in a tea cup and not worth the media storm or his mental health. It certainly looks as though he’s been thrown under the bus as a distraction story for the press.

But if the photos were of someone under 18 it is a crime

His MH does not exempt him from accountability. Do people in the public eye learn NOTHING from similar news stories!?

He is supposed to hold some decency and integrity. He's also married! I absolutely judge him, and I only feel for his wife. He's a sleazy old man, and THAT will remain his legacy now.

Perhaps he has always been gay and chose not to be for career reasons.
I feel for his family but if any minor is involved in this he must face criminal charges.

Just because he is the person who has been accused this does not mean he's actually done anything.

We do not know if the allegations are true

The police investigation say nothing illegal has occurred

The police have said no crime, so assume they have no evidence of photographs taken whilst no person was under 18y.

His career is 100% over now, and he has tarnished his legacy despite the police saying no crime took place.

Has it been confirmed the victim is male?

How strange that the news was started with ‘he has resigned, more allegations and complaints from BBC colleagues’ but then the resignation part was rolled back and nothing further said about the colleagues.
