You mean the adult who made a statement via lawyers saying it was a load of rubbish which has now been corroborated by the police.

The teenager denied it happened, is my understanding.

The police haven't denied it happened, simply that no crime has been committed. From the timeline looks like the parents were told this in May and approached the BEEB when they found out they weren't going to get anywhere pursuing the legal route.

I can't see that HE has been exonerated in terms of the allegations being factually incorrect.

Just looked on the Daily Mail website and funnily enough all of the comments are defending him. Different to how Caroline Flack and Phillip Schofield were torn apart. No wonder society is fucked, when as long as an activity isn't 'illegal' it's fair game. The future is bleak.

CF was a woman and PS had come out as gay and also pissed everyone off recently with qgate. But HE ‘is a nice bloke isn’t he’, ‘is the main guy for all royal events’, ‘got us through the Queen dying’. People don’t care about the shitty things they do, they care about putting people into Hero and Villains categories. Sod the ones actually getting hurt in the background.

MH issues don't turn you into a creep with a penchant for teenagers.

He's most likely booked himself in for a few weeks at The Priory until things calm down and now his poor wife will be the one with the press on her doorstep.

If the statement is correct, the BBC should have told him shortly after the initial complaint, not waited until it was going to be reported in The Sun. He might not be in hospital now were that the case.

I overheard... hard not to, some woman on the bus shouting about how The BBC Presenter was Huw Edwards. She kept saying that she wanted to know if he was a friend of Dorothy's - I don't watch the BBC so I don't know who she was on about? Who's Dorothy?

Old fashioned term for being gay. Comes from Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz.

Not according to a previous poster who’s had relatives who were sectioned but funnily enough the reason for their sectioning hadn’t caused them to indulge in seedy behaviour.

Who said he had bipolar? My family member was sectioned with bipolar. Admittedly he thought he was Jesus….. wasn’t a sleaze ball though but unfortunately thought he had come to save the world. I don’t believe for one moment Hew is at this level of illness. He most certainly wouldn’t have been able to present when the queen died had that have been the case.

Honestly all this talk about "playing the mental health card" is disgusting. You don't have to condone his behaviour to to appreciate that suddenly being exposed to this level of public scrutiny and vitriol will take a terrible toll on your mental health. Especially for someone who already has well documented struggles. I think everyone remembers what happened to Caroline Flack.

This, but we'll get accused of defending him now.

He's in hospital! Do people need to be dead before we believe them?!

By the way for the doubters, it's not just good people who have mental health struggles. How could you not in a situation like this?
