I need your help with sneaky DH

Took rings off last night left on side of the kitchen sink.
Came down from work and engagement ring has disappeared....mild panic.

Sneaky DH has hidden the ring. I've feigned disinterest but the stakes are high - we now have a game and I have all morning to find it.

All I've been told is it's somewhere in the kitchen. I've had most of the cupboards out and looked in all the glasses etc.

We have young DC so it's nowhere they would be able to find it.

All very petty and I was on the verge of texting for a clue....

I just can't get over his smug face coming and showing me where it was. It will be somewhere obvious I know it.

AIBU to ask for any suggestions? Please help - I need a win today

1st you need to find it, second you need to put it somewhere else. When he returns claim you havent found it and when he goes to get it and its not there let him sweat as he will think he has lost it.

Why are the stakes high? I just wouldn’t bother looking for it.

I’d just reply something like “well at least that makes life easier when I’m meeting my floozy later on”

I'd leave the rest of the rings there and say I'm not that fussed about wearing them at all now and not play his school playground games. Definitely wouldn't be scurrying around playing his pathetic mind games.

I can only assume that some people have terrible experiences of controlling dickhead exs doing this so it's from that perspective and experience.

If my DH did this is would be just lighthearted fun so 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes if he knew how much time I was spending doing this he would just tell me. Im as stubborn as they come and will die on this hill.

Why are people getting so angry over this? It’s just a bit of fun. If you have a solid healthy relationship I don’t see why you’d lose the plot over DH hiding your rings?
