To think men can NEVER be mothers

I am furious that men like this think they can call themselves mums/mothers. This deserves a wide audience, hence posting in AIBU.

Actual experts, or people who identify as experts?

The "experts" are probably India Willoughby and Freda Wallace 🤡🤡

I challenge any mother to justify this.

Just wrong.

So saddening that this man has used this baby as a prop to his fetish.

This has got to stop. Now.

It’s bizarre, on the “breastfeeding” post there seems an effort to equate transwomen with black people, gay people and disabled people. I’ve seen this a lot, it’s almost like this narrative is scripted

You say this but you're clearly not open to discussing other opinions than yours. She's a mother because she's a parent and says she's a mother. Almost any mother you know could be trans, if you don't know it doesn't seem to hurt you though... Maybe worry about more important issues like rising energy costs!

Actually 99 .9% of mothers I know could not be this person, I have seen them pregnant. The mothers who adopted are mothers by definition of being a female parent (as defined in the dictionary).

The people I know who provided the sperm are fathers- the male parent, male being and adult human male. Males are the class who produce sperm.

Wishing to be something different neither alters biology nor the English language.

Language is important. Otherwise I could say

During my popsicle minute yesterday I drank the sofa and ate the lampshade.

When really during my lunch hour today I ate a sandwich and walked the dog.

You can’t go round substituting words. They have meanings which are necessary for society to function

Mothering is a social construct. That is why men can be mothers. They can't be women because that is a matter of biology.

Hmm, I'm not sure. Female animals seem to do most of the mothering in nature.

very sorry I clicked YABU by accident

I think that “mothering” is different to “fathering” (largely due to gender stereotyping and expectations over the years). Single parents do both and those in same-sex relationships often do both.
