To think no teacher is affirming animal/moon/object genders

Surely no teacher in the UK would or could affirm a child who claimed to be a cat or a moon or any other sort of animal or object - eg letting them wear non-uniform, eat from bowl, disrupt learning with neo-pronoun requests. Just nonsense. This must be kids taking the piss and feeding bullshit to gullible journos.

I’ve also seen posters on here claiming their kid/cousin’s kid/neighbour’s goat breeder’s Auntie Sue’s best friend has first hand knowledge of this, and again I call bullshit. Bullshit. Any posters who say it’s not bullshit, get off here and write to Gillian Keegan, who explicitly requested examples of batshittery in schools at a recent select committee hearing, and name the school, and write to your local MP and ofsted too. But I think it’s just bullshit and teacher bashing.

So you heard that the teacher was addressing their views on gender - not about cats.

And if teachers are all over the fact that you can't change sex, why are so many toilets and sports unisex?

At no point does the teacher refer to anyone referring to themselves as a cat , there is no evidence that anyone in that school refers to themselves as a cat, the only people who mention cats are eye girls that made the recording - which is a small excerpt from a longer conversation, that we were not party to .. the sole purpose of which seemed to be to get “likes” on Tik-Tok

The student argued that gender is determined by biological sex - “if you have a vagina you’re a girl and if you have penis you’re a boy. That’s it”.

So according to that student, there is no such thing as a trans person.

Perhaps you should listen to it yourself, so you know what you're arguing about.

Lots of women don't identify as feminists and don't read the threads on FWR. But if you have a child at school, wouldn't you want to know this?

It may well be less harmful for someone to identify as a cat than the opposite sex in that “gender affirming” surgery probably has more complications and long term consequences than sticking a tail on someone would.

To return to the point of the OP, teachers are being forced to affirm situations that they know are untrue. To go back to the atheist analogy - they can see the bread - they just don't believe it's their saviour. It's time the teaching unions supported them so they can say that in classrooms without being vilified and hounded from schools.

I agree that sex is different from gender (and I'm not convinced that everyone has a gender, including myself) but it's the trans rights activists who conflate the two.

If I was to say that cats have four legs, would you respond by saying "so you don't believe that three-legged cats exist?"

Of course three-legged cats exist, that doesn't stop cats being quadrupeds.
