To think no teacher is affirming animal/moon/object genders

Surely no teacher in the UK would or could affirm a child who claimed to be a cat or a moon or any other sort of animal or object - eg letting them wear non-uniform, eat from bowl, disrupt learning with neo-pronoun requests. Just nonsense. This must be kids taking the piss and feeding bullshit to gullible journos.

I’ve also seen posters on here claiming their kid/cousin’s kid/neighbour’s goat breeder’s Auntie Sue’s best friend has first hand knowledge of this, and again I call bullshit. Bullshit. Any posters who say it’s not bullshit, get off here and write to Gillian Keegan, who explicitly requested examples of batshittery in schools at a recent select committee hearing, and name the school, and write to your local MP and ofsted too. But I think it’s just bullshit and teacher bashing.

All schools asked and all schools responded today. It’s pretty conclusive. Hopefully you’re still identifying as someone with eyes so you can read this.

Part of me thinks if they are affirming it, it's to try and stop people from complaining/calling them something-phobic...more hassel than its worth.

The children doing this are, in my opinion, attention seeking and by going along with it they're drawing less attention to it iyswim...sort of blasé about it.

I suspect this thread will be an excuse to rehash all the stuff from the last one, and I would like this stuff to stay in Sex and Gender discussion quite frankly.

If they're letting boys into girls toilets and changing rooms why would they not give cats cat bowls and litter trays?

What would you like teachers to do? Go along with it which is seen as accepting children can be cats or tell them they are a child and get fired. I feel sorry for the teachers.

I agree that transcats are cats. It just makes sense on every level.

I'm sorry, I really don't get the problem. If someone identifies as a cat, that's what they are.

I know a family who adopted a cat recently but didn't even consider a transcat. I was appalled.

They have it really hard and lots of vets won't even take them on as patients.

It's like a genocide really. No other word for it.

And they wonder why teachers are leaving, never mind pay and conditions without all this utter madness to deal with.

If you take an atheist to a communion service, do they deny the existence of the bread? No. They can see the bread exists but they don't believe in transubstantiation - they don't believe the bread is the body and blood of Christ.
No-one is denying transpeople exist. It's just that the majority don't share transpeople's beliefs about gender.

Some teachers were practically falling over themselves to affirm my ASD daughter as a boy. This was despite us specifically and clearly explaining why she wasn't ready to make a decision like that and not giving permission. They did it anyway.

I guess I should be grateful DD is still human.

The Government information on this has taken too long. As soon as we have an opportunity to join a group legal action against what has been allowed to happen in schools, we will.

It is indeed difficult to imagine that there ux sn adult anywhere agreeing with teens if they claim to be cats.

A few years ago, it would have been just as difficult to imagine teachers falling over themselves to say that people can definitely change sex.

Sex and gender are two different things. No one is saying you can change your chromosomes.

If you listen to the conversation, the students did indeed say that trans people don't exist, and that your genitalia determines your gender, of which they said there are two.

There are two sexes and genitalia determines sex in 99.9% of cases.

I did listen to it. I heard them asserting their right to their own beliefs about sex and gender. A belief that Forstater proved was worthy of respect in society. The teacher tried to browbeat them into retracting their beliefs as though they were despicable. They are not. They are protected beliefs and they are shared by the majority.

They did not say "trans people don't exist". They said that girls have vaginas and boys have penises. That's it.

Of course they aren't but you'll get lots of people here earnestly telling you it's a slippery slope, etc etc.
And they act completely shocked if you point out this is the exact same gameplay the homophobes use: " if we allow same sex marriage people will end up marrying animals".

And yet here you are, bumping it and making sure that it appears in "threads I'm on". Probably in active too. Whereas if you'd just hidden or ignored the thread (or even reported it if you thought that MNHQ should consider moving it) you wouldn't keep seeing it pop up.

Bloody hell, we’d have had a field day with this when we were teenagers and i went to a nice school.

Can you imagine, today Tom identifies as a cat, Jerry as a mouse and Pluto as a dog and then we could have an almighty fight! Or blame Pluto for eating our homework.

Complete madness not to think that teenagers are doing this to take the piss.

I'd sooner risk disciplinary over this, than capitulate and pretend that Jane really is a cat.
