How long had you been together before your partner proposed to you?

6 months

He didn't. We decided mutually after we had been together about a year. Married a few months later.

We decided that we’d like to get married after 3 years. No proposal.

3.5 years. We'd bought a house before then though which we felt was more of a commitment to each other, even though less romantic

Two years after we left uni....don't think the uni years count. But we already knew it would happen....so five years if you count the uni years. Married 14 almost 15 years...

Just over two years. But we had already discussed marriage and all the important things like finances, children, housework, where we'd live, life priorities etc. We'd agreed on these things and then agreed we were ready. He proposed a couple of months later (I knew he'd want to do the actual proposing bit, but if he hadn't we could have just agreed to marry and cracked on).

About two years after we established and agreed that we wanted to be a couple. We’d been hooking up casually and non-monogamously for about three years prior to that.

Similar. 2yrs of uni, 16mths out of uni. Married a Yr later, married 25yrs this August.

No proposals here. We talked about marriage and agreed to do it.

About 6 years. He had said he wouldn't propose before he was 30 but did want to get married.. so I knew it was on the cards (he proposed on my 30th birthday, been married 10 years now)

5 years. He asked, I declined. We've been together 20 years though so he clearly wasn't put off by me not wanting to ever get married again. 😄

9 years. But after the first year we moved in together, by 3 or 4 years in we had pretty much agreed we were getting married and having kids together at some point.
