How long had you been together before your partner proposed to you?

3 weeks. We waited 3 years to get married though. 21 years on now.

6 months-ish. It was a spur of the moment, no ring, no fuss, no grand down on one knee rubbish. Just me making an off hand comment about the venue we were at for a family members 18th birthday and then he asked. We married about 15 months later.

8 years. Just got engaged in May 😊

We decided to get married, after 10 years together

He didn't, I did and we'd been together over 5 years and owned a house and enormous mortgage already.

We got together young and prioritised buying a house and getting settled first.

Almost 6 years but we were only 21, almost 22, at the time.

My DPs? 6 months! Now been together 48 years.

So two very different ends of the spectrum and both long and happy relationships.

Before our first date

We decided after about 2 years but we lived together from 3 months and discussed marriage/kids early on.

2 years, but the proposal itself was a bit of a sham, as we’d already agreed that we would get married, so it was just a daft formality and an excuse for us to go out for a meal after to celebrate. We’d have waited (much) longer if we’d have been younger (we were 40 and 37 and wanted to start a family).

4.5 years. Then had a 2 year engagement.
