To think the parents of children who are in childcare would like to see them more often?

I CM and have several sets of parents who finish work early on many occasions who never collect their child early. I know I am paid and it does not bother me in the slightest to look after them for their agreed hours, I just feel sorry for the child because they are missing out on this extra time with parents who work full time.

I was a working mum for 3 months (as in not CM) but always collected dd early when I finished early because I wanted to spend time with her. AIBU?

Lovely, some justification of the mad views of nurseries.

Nurseries obviously don't value the work of their employees?

What utter crap. Its a totally illogical argument and demonstrably untrue, because if it were true the poor exploited nursery workers would leave in droves and the nurseries would fail. Some probably do, the bad ones. The good ones, as with any other type of business, flourish.

I am so glad for this explanation of the pitfalls of nurseries, obviously I should switch to a CM immediately, preferably one who spends their time minding their own child as well, whilst giving my DS the real life experience of watching her doing her housework, tapping away on MN and generally padding about as if DS was not there.

My god! Never thought this could be CV scale

wordsmith yes I am serious about reading the thread if you want responses to the questions you asked. I cannot repeat everything I have said over the past 2 days verbatum!

Who on earth said that CM were too expensive I charge £3.10 per hour which is half the minimum wage . and work 60hrs per week to make a sensible wage.

Well well well. I left the thread for a while and came back to find all the child care workers shooting themselves in the foot by telling us how shite most nurseries/CMs are!!!! If you're that shit at the job, how come you're all such amazing parents that even your DHs don't get a look-in?!

unfortunately many vocational jobs (esp public sector) are poorly paid despite committed and talented staff. measuring worth by financial renumeration is deeply flawed.indeed if we valued worth by financial renumeration then plastic titted numnuts most schlebrities would get the SFA they deserve
