I don't get it. Both are charlatans but seem to have a core fan base.

If you're one, can you say why and do you believe they tell the truth?

Have you formed an opinion on lying to Parliament yet?

I did, but unfortunately you forgot to open a linked thread - the last one was full up before I could post.

Begsthequestion
like it's a fact you believe. That's quite worrying

Why is it 'quite worrying'? Quite worrying would be a 'fact' that was way off the mark - sounds pretty close from the link above;
All-in-all, Trump garnered 26% of the non-white vote in 2020. This is a respectable showing, by recent Republican standards; indeed, it’s the second-best showing recorded by exit polls since 1976, behind George W. Bush's 28% in 2004.

(NB I don't support Trump - or Biden. I do rather like Hillary Clinton and Boris Johnson.)

Keir Starmer initially claimed there were 'about 6' people with him enjoying a beer and curry in Durham - when in fact there were 16 people with him. Starmer's false fact is 'quite worrying'.

@Clavinova have you had time to form an opinion on appointing a known sex pest to a position of responsibility yet?

It's an easy question to answer, do you think lying to parliament is acceptable?

Boris should have stayed a journalist. He was very good at that. He is clever but bored by detail and I’m not sure really believes in anything.
starmer will be just as incompetent but with added prissiness and sanctimony. And spite. God help us.

Good at it? 🤣🤣🤣 He has been called out for racism and lies in many articles. That’s not good by any definition.

Rhondaa · 14/07/2023 21:19

'Keir Starmer initially claimed there were 'about 6' people with him enjoying a beer and curry in Durham - when in fact there were 16 people with him. Starmer's false fact is 'quite worrying'.

Yep Forensic Starmer can't even count. Or if he can he just has a very poor memory, or he is in fact a big fat liar liar with his pants on fire. I think it's the latter.

Meowandthen · 14/07/2023 21:21

AgathaSpencerGregson · 11/06/2023 19:12

Lefties like him are always spiteful. See his policy on private schools (and previous labour policy on grammar schools and the assisted places scheme). Achieves nothing other than a kick in the teeth for the people they don’t like.

Looks like we’ve found the Mail reader.

claiming that “lefties… are always spiteful” is such a groundless claim that it simply makes you look stupid and rather spiteful yourself.

Starmer didn't break the law.
Johnson broke the law and lied to Parliament.

I'm confused, when Johnson lies over and over, you praise him, why not praise Starmer if you think he has also lied?

It's an easy question to answer

No it's not - it's quite complicated. I read the coverage in the Mail - I agreed with quite a few of their points, but not all of them. Then I read the coverage in the Times - I agreed with quite a few of their points, but not all of them. Then I skipped through the report and spotted discrepancies there as as well. So, perhaps my answer is that I am in the 'undecided' group.

Johnson broke the law and lied to Parliament.

Oh an fpn for a cake in a tupperware box, the Met excelled themselves in their diligence.

An impartial committee headed by I Hate Johnson Harman and with Bernard Drinks Party Jenkins on decided he lied. Seriously it'd be laughable if folk didn't actually take notice of what they came up with.

@Janiie so you don't see anything wrong with breaking the law and lying to parliament about it.

Fair enough.
Does that just apply to Johnson, or can anyone break the law if they feel like it?

And broke the law.

@Clavinova have you got any links showing us that breaking the law and lying is just fine and normal behaviour?

Much obliged.

How is that 'quite close' to the largest share? Unless you interpret that phrase rather differently from me??

it’s the second-best showing recorded by exit polls since 1976

Also, the non-white vote is obviously a much smaller group than the white vote -therefore a 2% difference is not going to be as large as it would be in the general population.

It's certainly not 'worrying' that a poster might believe the false fact.

@Clavinova so you are saying that the Prime Minister Johnson was too stupid to understand a law that he introduced.

An odd defence, but there we go.
