Alice Evans/ Ioan Gruffydd misogyny

It’s all over the papers that Ioan Gryffudds 13 year old daughter has taken out a restraining order against him due to him & his girlfriends violent behaviour to his eldest daughter. And I have seen loads of comments blaming Alice Evans for it.

Its incredible misogynistic bollocks. She seems to have been blamed for him leaving her & their children, for him not seeing his kids for years, for him running off with a younger woman & now for his behaviour towards his daughter which has resulted in her asking for a restraining order against her father.

How can it always be the fault of the woman? It’s horrible misogyny. He left his family & ran off with a younger woman!

Alice Evans had an affair with a co- star long before Ioan Gruffud left her. And he was allowed to leave her - I should imagine she was incredibly difficult to be married to. I don't know if you've ever seen the interview where he describes his proposal to AE - he tells it as if it's a lovely, funny story, but reading between the lines it sounds awful and she sounds, well, odd.

It comes across that there has been a lot of parental alienation, AE using her daughters as emotional crutches, and she has whipped her fans into an abusive, frenzied circus, posting really awful things about IG and his girlfriend on social media.

I had no idea who either were until she started spewing vitriol and hatred all over social media. I researched everything and read the court papers because I am passionate about female abuse against males being recognised. I got invested in this case because I hoped it might change the way the world is working currently about this. My husband's ex-wife was found guilty of physical abuse against him but the court could not order the attendance of a DV course as she was not male. And the Judge could not have given a shit about it.
This means I care about what happens here but I do my research. Personally I don't think he would have taken the risk of perjuring himself on court documents where he declared there was no affair. She on the other hand has been caught out in horrendous lies and it's all provable (mainly by her own social media posts where she contradicts herself constantly).

Did he have an affair? I didn't think that was an established fact.

I think the main issue is people so staunchly taking sides in this sordid tale. How can anyone who isn't very close to them know the truth about what's happened?

I never said it was. I was just pointing out that the problem is lots of speculation around these two people and throwing out accusations as if they are fact.

AE has behaved like a manipulative narc and dragged those two children into it - she has caused such damage to them it very sad. Also can you ask MN to edit your OP to 'alleged' violent behaviour.

The mother in this case said the man was being abusive by asking the children to say thank you. This child therefore does not have a proper understanding of what abuse is as is shown by her submission to the court. She went apeshit and tried to trash the flat. She has been weaponised by her mother and this is going to end very very badly for all the people involved in it.

Women and kids are treated like shit by men all the time. A lot of women are in much worse positions than AE. AE needs to get her shit together and start building a new life for her and her girls. As I expect their Dad just doesn't care about his girls but has been caught out as he's in the public eye. So he's trying to make it seem like it's not his fault. I think that's probably at the heart of the story with the daughter. The child is being manipulated into being the bad guy so he can safely discard her without censor. Yes he's an absolute wanker but dust yourself off and move on! AE needs to be well and working as that's the best thing she can do for her kids.

AE probably gets more ire as she's the one who took their relationship break down onto social media and posted many many unhinged things. If she hadn't no doubt it would have been in the papers for a day that they'd split and rightly no one would give a shiny shit.

Oh ffs if people bother to actually read the article they'll see that his daughter had begun trashing his apartment and throwing food around the place because she wasn't happy his girlfriend was there. Her head didn't get slammed in the door intentionally, it happened when they shut the door to stop her running off. She even says that herself.

This child is damaged by the fact she's had her bitter as hell mother as her main carer for most of her life.......ioan may well have been a shitty partner, but the way his ex behaved was ridiculous. And I can well imagine the toxic atmosphere its created.
