To not paint my toenails for my friends wedding tomorrow

First world problem I know! I have painted my fingernails a lovely red but I have lost my toe separators and find painting my toes boring, plus I have a 10 month old baby who makes every task 10x more difficult to complete! My toes will be on show as I have sandals to wear with my dress tomorrow.

UABU- paint your toenails to match your fingernails
UANBU- nude toenails are fine

I personally hate unpainted toenails on myself (feet are gross enough) but I’m also rather slovenly so given limited time I would put my shoes on tomorrow morning and whip a coat of paint on the nails that show…

Bahahahaha. I'm not a mega-groomed person. I don't wear make-up unless I'm going somewhere special, I hate heels. I just think it's nice to make an effort for someone's wedding and painting your toenails is easy to do. I (personally) think that it looks odd to leave them if your fingernails are painted. And people neglect their feet, don't they? I just used some of those sock things that make all the dead skin fall off - that was pretty cool.
"People like you" though. You haven't even got a clue who I am. What an odd thing to say. She asked for an opinion and I gave mine. Personally I don't care what other people do and I don't spend much time looking at people's feet. Funnily enough 🙄

The wedding was awesome and I had a great time. I didn’t spot so much as a sideways glance at my unpainted toes 😂

I doubt your desire to paint your nails has come from yourself, but society's desire for women to be pretty and shiny.

But I feel better if I’m pretty and shiny. As a little girl (ie before media/society influenced me) I wanted to be pretty and shiny. It’s not a crime

Never in my life have I painted my toe nails!
If I tried to, it works definitely take a lot longer than 2 minutes.

I really think that there is no need. Who cares about toenails? Who cares about people who care about toenails?

That said, I would not want to look at manky toenails on my feet. I do not always paint them, they rarely match my fingers, but I do like to paint them. They currently are a wee rainbow.

All in the half hour then my baby naps!

My hair and nails grow pretty fast but I can't imagine many people wouldn't have nail varnish grow out within months...

I have a disability and can’t easily paint my toenails. My uncle looked at them disapprovingly at one point. I say fight the patriarchy and don’t - I like getting my hair and nails done when I want to- but we don’t owe anyone pretty!

the amusing thing is that most of the men I know are either indifferent or more frequently hate nail varnish, while their partners enjoy using all the colours of the rainbow on their toe nails 😂

Not sure painted toenails would exist or be so mainstream if the Patriarchy had something to say about it 😂

Shock horror, I'm going into the office tomorrow wearing sandals and with naked toenails. Let's hope my colleagues survive the shock!
