To think it's blooming freezing!

I've come downstairs and to be frank it's blooming cold. I have put a jumper on but am still not that warm. I know my temperature regulation is up the spout as I have long covid but am now wondering if it is just me or if others are feeling that it's exceptionally cold for June too - im tempted to put the heating on!

A balmy high of 15 here today. I would like it a little warmer but struggle when it's really hot so don't mind too much. The ground is very dry though.

DappledThings · 06/06/2023 11:20

Says 24 on Saturday. I hope not, that's grumpy territory for me.

cocksstrideintheevening · 06/06/2023 11:22

I'm in the SE, there is a cold wind. I am in slippers joggers, t shirt and hoodie.

It's been getting pleasant in the afternoon when the sun has been able to break through.

I was in Ireland last week and it was lovely and warm.

GoodChat · 06/06/2023 11:23

It's very cold in my house at the moment. It's very cloudy today!

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 06/06/2023 11:24

I'm on the south coast and we've had lovely weather. The wind has kept it a reasonable temperature. The evenings have been pretty chilly though.

GoodChat · 06/06/2023 11:25

Although my thermostat says it's 17.5 degrees.

Fahrenheit, maybe!!!

the80sweregreat · 06/06/2023 11:25

I love a ' we hate hot weather ' thread because I am surrounded by lizard people who Lap it up. I meet my people on those threads!! Lol
Although I'm aware I'm a hypocrite as I pay to go on a holiday to hot countries for a week!
It's a different heat here though , more oppressive and last years really heatwave did me in and I hope it won't be as hot this year.

NewPinkJacket · 06/06/2023 11:25

There's not much to like about peri-menopause, but at least I'm permanently warm! 🥵

whyisitalwayswindy · 06/06/2023 11:28

Scotland here and it's glorious! Has been for days. Very unusual!

Crikeyalmighty · 06/06/2023 11:31

It’s been glorious here for the last fortnight. So much so I wondered why the media hadn’t spoken about but that’s obviously because it’s cold in the South East 🙄 when there’s a heatwave down there I’m sure we’ll here about it.

It’s definitely not cold in the south east, we’ve had no rain for weeks and it’s been between 20 - 25° where I am (West Sussex)!

coffeecupsandwaxmelts · 06/06/2023 11:33

Gorgeous in Cumbria and has been for weeks now.

GoodChat · 06/06/2023 11:33

It was funny doing the nursery run this morning because half the population are in summer dresses and the other half are in winter coats Grin

Livonia · 06/06/2023 11:36

The weather has been odd.

We're on a farm in rural Derbyshire. Really wet spring and now dry as a bone and we really need some rain. Of course if it's starts it probably won't stop!

Like elsewhere, we're having lots of days that start really quite chilly, definitely coat weather and jumpers indoors and warm up enough for outside eating later in the day.

Really quite nippy again today after getting a bit sunburnt yesterday. Daughter has got aftersun cream and underneath a blanket this morning!

Weird!!!

Heartofglass12345 · 06/06/2023 11:37

I'm in south wales and it hasn't rained for a couple of weeks and has been lovely and warm mostly but it's cold today!

FerrariLaFerrari · 06/06/2023 11:38

I think we're in a bubble as I keep reading about the cold weather and we've had a couple of weeks of glorious sunshine. I have the best tan I've had in years as I'm outside with my toddler all the time.

Today is the first cloudier day in a while and it's a bit chillier but I'm still in a t shirt and no socks.

I'm Wilts/Hants border.

Cincinnatus · 06/06/2023 11:38

Was in a dress at drop off this morning.. had to change into trousers and a jumper when I got home!

Wizzbangfizz · 06/06/2023 11:39

I’m east coast and it’s bloody bitter - really hoping that wind drops soon

EarringsandLipstick · 06/06/2023 11:41

I'm reading this with great interest! I always have some vague notion that everywhere in the UK (I'm in Ireland) is warmer & sunnier than Ireland (I do know really that's not true!)

We have such changeable weather in almost all parts of Ireland.

But we are having a lovely warm spell at the moment. Perfect temperature for me, 19 - 22 or so with a light breeze. It's great.

Due to last most of this week. Up to this, we've had really poor spring / summer weather - cold, heavy unpredictable rain, definitely had heating on in spots during May!

Peridot1 · 06/06/2023 11:42

I’m in Hampshire and while it’s been really dry for weeks and we have had some sunshine we have had that really cold breeze. I’ve noticed it’s cold in the mornings and then warms up a bit. Then gets really old quite quickly again in the evenings.

Due to heat up a bit for us from tomorrow. Thankfully as we are hosting a bbq for 50 on Thursday evening!

Pixiedust1234 · 06/06/2023 11:42

I cant remember the last time clouds not getting burnt away until the afternoon which has been happening here the past few days. Very cool mornings with full cloud then hot bright afternoons.

I can tell its colder today, with threat of drizzle/rain, as my body is vibrating with pain. I need a real summer with stable temperatures 😤

GalileoHumpkins · 06/06/2023 11:43

I'm in Ireland and it's boiling, has been since the middle of May.

Dartmoorcheffy · 06/06/2023 11:43

It's 18 degrees in Bath, that's certainly not cold. I'm in Devon and it's 20 here at the moment and clear blue skies after a cloudy start.

frustratednomad · 06/06/2023 11:45

@Crikeyalmighty you're obviously not west enough lol. Just went to take something outside and it's raining.

WeAreTheHeroes · 06/06/2023 11:48

You're not wrong OP. I'm just having a quick break from work and it's chuffing freezing and overcast here in north Derbyshire. I am off to find a hoody and warm up!
