Are we allowed to talk about this young man's videos and the wider impact he may have on youth culture?

(Not sure as it involves ongoing legal issues, I believe?)

I don't live in London, nor do I watch TikTok, so the behavior of this young man, and the police's lack of action towards him, has really shocked me! How was he only arrested and fined AFTER becoming infamous online? How is asking a lone young woman if she "wants to die" seen as funny?

Given his notoriety, I'm worried he will lead to a load of copycats now Angry

But at the same time, I think im done hearing about this child. He can fade away into obscurity now and deal with the consequences of his actions when he realises nobody is interested in him anymore.

i haven’t read anything about him in the press. The little twat was all over twitter before he even got arrested - I got angry watching his videos. He puts his own content out there which is disturbing and upsetting - you can’t blame the media for this one.

Really and his Twitter videos have not been reported in the press ? He hasn’t been interviewed by Piers Morgan and that in turn was was heavily reported by the press

Tbf, without the media frenzy surrounding him, he would have probably carried on without being fined/arrested! It was only after people saw his videos and reported them en-masse that the police started to take him seriously. Sad

My point is that the media don’t need to whip up a frenzy, his own actions are awful enough that people are angry about it. You seem to think people are over reacting

What's disproportionate about people being angry about his entering someone's house and behaving threateningly, stealing an elderly woman's dog, scaring people and asking if they 'want to die'?

Yet if this were a white lad, no excuses would be forthcoming. I often wonder if some people are more concerned with finding offence, than they are with condemning anti social/criminal behaviour. As a pp said, it doesn't matter what colour the skin is of an offender.

so what comments do you think his mother would receive in the daily mail etc this is why I can understand why she does not make a statement why should she have to deal with racism

I can understand people being shocked and upset at the Twitter posts but he isn’t the only one behaving in such a way but there is certainly a level of reporting on him and that lead to levels of vitriol towards him that is disproportionate

Piers Morgan interviewed him knowing exactly what response the interview would get he knows exactly how to tap into peoples fears and he knows how to stir up racism which is what he has successfully done

He's a criminal. I don't see why anyone would defend him. Breaking and entering is a crime. Threatening to kill someone is a crime.

The lad played the race card and Morgan pulled him up on that. I don't see anything being blown out of proportion. His acts are disgraceful but you seem hell bent on just defending him and presenting others as the wrong doers. There is no defence for the selfishness of his crimes. You're just trying to muddy the waters by making him the victim.

i posted that I can I understand why his mother is not making a public statement due to the racism that she will receive

i have said the reporting and response is disproportionate

I stated on previous post he should face consequences and be dealt with

and yes of course Piers Morgan knew the response he would get from the interview

He should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Meaning a prison sentence of a decade or more. I suspect he won't even be sent to jail at all, some kind of suspended sentence and community service. Which will only mean he'll be back on tiktok with even more viewers and making even more money from his crimes.

There is now a video of this person wearing a Jewish man's hat and mocking the way orthodox Jews speak saying "I'm a Jew now". Surely this is a hate crime? I think it's really disgusting that instead of this person being locked up they are being feted by the BBC (Newsnight) and given more exposure and treated with kid gloves. Why is he being treated so leniently with just small cash fines?

He was arrested for harassment of Charedi Jews in February. He appeared in a video cycling while wearing a hoiche hat and saying, “Guys I’m a f**king Jew.”

The last Orthodox Jew I talked to spoke exactly like you'd expect any bank manager from Finchley to talk.
