Mizzy (TikTok "prankster")

TheTERFnextDoor · 29/05/2023 15:01

Are we allowed to talk about this young man's videos and the wider impact he may have on youth culture?

(Not sure as it involves ongoing legal issues, I believe?)

I don't live in London, nor do I watch TikTok, so the behavior of this young man, and the police's lack of action towards him, has really shocked me! How was he only arrested and fined AFTER becoming infamous online? How is asking a lone young woman if she "wants to die" seen as funny?

Given his notoriety, I'm worried he will lead to a load of copycats now Angry

I wouldn’t be talking to the press or making statements on social media if I was his mum

we have already seen comments on here along the lines that he isn’t doing much to help better young black mens reputations 🙄

she unfortunately will have to deal with a load of nasty racism regardless of what she says

SureJanSure · 30/05/2023 10:11

@LibertyFloral

You seem to be gunning for the mum when you haven't seen her yet. Best to keep to the lad and his actions, not presume what a woman would or wouldn't do based on your one bias.

SureJanSure · 30/05/2023 10:11

Own* bias

If I lived around his area I would always keep my door securely locked.

People should keep their doors securely locked whether Mizzy lives in their area or not. There are lots of people like him about - they were there before him and will be after him.

He's even 'safer' as he's playing a prank (🙄) for social media. Others like him may not be so 'safe', and will rob and harm for real.

In the home invasion video the woman was gardening in her front garden and him and a bunch of his mates went past her through the open front door. She shouted for her husband who was downstairs with their toddler and he had to turf them out - even then they didn’t leave immediately he went and sat in their living room. This is not the homeowners fault for having an open door. It’s the degenerates who thought this was an ok thing to do.

FrostyFifi · 30/05/2023 10:59

Can we please not blame his mother or members of any general community. This is one individual, well him and his skeevy little mates. His poor mum might be in despair.

RocketIceLollie · 30/05/2023 11:00

Yep he'll end up pranking the wrong person sooner or later. But seriously he needs to grow up.

I thought it was the girl too initially until I watched it again. Mizzy has still chosen his target very carefully though as he knows that young lad won't fight back. The three of them are clearly terrified of Mizzy. It's horrible to watch.

Yeah I watched it again on a larger screen and could tell it was a young man (he is partially concealed by the girl at the side of him) - but he seemed a quiet sort of lad and you could tell the targets were chosen carefully. It was nice how the girl pushed Mizzi's hand away for her friend though. I suppose she though it would seem less aggressive if she did it and less likely to provoke a reaction.

Thesharkradar · 30/05/2023 12:17

This has been predicted numerous times on this thread, however other posters have also pointed out that he seems very adept choosing the 'right' victims- he is keenly aware of exactly what he can and can't get away with.
Will he overreach and end up getting the shit kicked out of him? He's quite slightly built, I'm not sure if he will overreach 🤷

I think with an ability to single out victims that won't fight back, a career in government beckons.

TheHandmaiden · 30/05/2023 13:32

Argh, it's the irresistible nature of social media. Someone will realise if they haven't already that getting a prankster done over on TikTok is good for clicks

Very true, if Mizzy got Mizzied that would score a lot of clicks👀

NotTerfNorCis · 30/05/2023 13:52

One day he might well pick on the wrong person, but when he does, it's likely to be that person who gets into trouble, while the 'prankster' acts all wounded and self-righteous. It's already happened in America:

Kanel Joseph was pulling off a luggage-stealing prank and things got serious when he tried to pull that stunt on the wrong guy.Jayar Jackson and Ben Carollo ...

Yes I suspect these kids know that. Time for the courts to support the victim, not the perpetrators.

Almost certainly. I don't think the boy could have done that without being prepared to fight / be attacked. He's got good friends there though.

Xenia · 30/05/2023 15:54

Most people don't do these things, thankfully. However we need to crack down hard on it. It is actually another facet of antisocial behaviour, loud music at night and all the rest which are so awful for neighbours to handle and so hard to stop.

Those doing these things need to realise that even just pushing someone in the street is an assault and the poor victim has a legal right to protect themselves even if the criminal dies in the process that can sometimes be lawful, thankfully.

Madamecastafiore · 30/05/2023 15:59

He'd get a squirt of aerosol oven cleaner in the face if he popped into my house uninvited, it'd scare the shit out of me and of course I'd be just about to clean the oven. Hopefully it'd put him off of behaving like an entitled wanker in future!

Sadly, the nasty twat isn't alone in this.
There's plenty of other tiktokers of the same ilk.
At the moment, there's a young tiktoker awaiting trial in America who thought her pranks were hilarious in a bid to find claim.
So hilarious that as I type, Emily Matiss is awaiting trial in America for smashing her car into an innocent motorist, killing him.
While the emergency services spent six hours trying to free the motorist from his absolutely mangled car, she continued to post tiktoks from her hospital bed, where she was with minor injuries. Giving the thumbs up and laughing etc.
Unfortunately, I don't think this criminal, and let's face it, that's what he is, will learn anything from this, even if he gets a custodial sentence.
He will probably see it as another notch to fame.
I hope he does pick on the wrong one and gets the battering of his life.

OT but I read that as 'Emily Matliss' and nearly fell off my chair!

I'm going to pose the following question as a tool for debate, NOT because I agree with what Mizzy's doing.

How is what he's doing any different from Beadle's About?

You're right insofar as Beadle's About was as similarly "amusing" as this berk - i.e. about as funny as a burning orphanage but Beadle's pranks were planned and vetted by a professional TV production team.

They were, although I vaguely remember some of them as being incredibly cruel. I remember one or two prankees breaking down in tears. There was one of a woman where an actress went to her home and pretended that her husband was having an affair and she was the OW.

I mean, this was the era when 'professional TV production teams' were putting Jimmy Savile on our screens, so....ya know.

My late mother worked in TV in the 60s before I was born and again in the 80s so I know how putrid the industry was and still is; come to think of it I am surprised this dickhead hasn't been snapped up by ITV - I don't watch TV myself but I understand there's at least one spare seat on an ITV sofa.

You need serious intervention if your hope is that a teen gets assaulted by a big man.

I hope he gets the living shit kicked out of him.

Feel free to wring your hands and pray for some intervention for me, too.

Didn't Beadle's About rely on cooperation from family/friends to set up the "prank", if so I'd say that makes quite a big difference

spokunda · 30/05/2023 17:24

Many of his victims were South Asian and ME. I watched every video before channel deletion. The clips shared on twitter are of the White victims.

totally understand the sentiment @AllyCart !
Even so, I hope he turns his life around and turns into a decent fella.
