Ok I know I've spelt her surname wrong... but here we are. We all know who I'm talking about!

I just don't understand why social media has turned on her, almost blaiming her for allowing Phillip S antics to go on?

Why is she responsible for his actions????

And for those saying "she must've known"... maybe she didn't! Maybe she kept out of it or maybe she didn't know the full one and puts.
Why so she being Blaine's. Am I missing something??!

Holly is a fantastic actress!

She could get a job in a soap/film…she really is very good, I don’t even mean that in a bitchy way, she really is

I still do t really understand why we’re all hating him. Is it because he had an affair? Because he’s gay? Because the person he had the affair with was young and the rumour is he manipulated the person into a sexual relationship?

I can’t work it out. I don’t like him because he’s everywhere and seems a sanctimonious prick but I can’t work out why this is constant front page news. People have affairs all the time and keep their jobs. The whole of parliament lie all the time and keep their jobs. What am I missing?

His brand is "trust and integrity"

That is why it's so shocking. We all know politicians lie and have affairs. I know personally, I never saw it coming. I never even thought he was gay before he came out. He is a wolf in sheeps clothing....and that is why it's headlining.

Flunkey · 30/05/2023 08:45

I'm going to put this keypoints forward for Holly

  • she heard rumours. He denied them. She trusted PS and believed him.
  • ITV mamagement investigated found nothing and sacked anyone who persisted to raise concerns
  • Holly loves he job and it works for her. I'd be reluctant to give up a job that is part time, works around kids and is term time with Friday's off and very likely extremely well paid.
  • Nobody can sack PS for having sex with an other adult, especially when that other adult says they didn't have sex. ItV cant go around doing any more covert or overt investigating other than taking their word for it. That would also be shocking.
  • PS is obviously a very talented broadcaster/actor and has not been truthful
  • it looks like he cherrypicked this young boy out from the theatre group. Did he do it because he fancied him and played a long game until the point he was legal. It looks like it, but can you prove it. 🤔
  • this is a mess of PS making. I dont think any blame should be put on anybody else.
  • certainly ITV needs to look at their safeguarding measures to prevent abuses of power with a safe route to report concerns.

There are two things here really.

  1. Phil’s relationship with the younger man. Whether or not Holly knew, turned a blind eye, etc (and if she didn’t, IMO, she must’ve been the most gullible fool. And personally, I don’t believe she is anyone’s fool).
  2. The toxic set up at TM, which it now appears she very much WAS a part of, based on recent statements from ex-TM people (and I don’t think Dr Ranj and Eamonn will be the last of those).

Holly might be able to feign innocence on 1., but she very much is part of and damaged by 2. The only way, IMO, for her to salvage her ‘star power’ is to resign from This Morning, and keep her other gigs, keep on the downlow and look for something bigger in future. If she tries to cling on to TM, it’s going to look a whole lot worse for her. I can’t see how her position is tenable. If she does go back, the damage to the show would be irreparable.

Eamon’s comments were brutal. Especially about her motives for suddenly admitting Alison to her inner circle of famous female friends. The timing of that is definitely suspect. If I was Alison, I would be really upset to think she might have been used by Holly.

Holly isn’t the only one who should go - Martin Frizzel and other management should go too. But Holly is the public face.

Clear out your stables, ITV.

SequinsandStilettos · 30/05/2023 09:47

Holly helped the runner with his showreel, knew he was pretty much Phil's PA across more than one show, knew he'd been moved sideways and more damningly, was privy to the runner's emotional outburst after he'd been kicked out of an after-party. The wheels were coming off, the runner was seen as a liability/a loose cannon who would run his mouth off/sell his story and they needed to make This. Problem. Go. Away.
ITV management investigated found nothing and sacked anyone who persisted to raise concerns
ITV should reveal its investigation. Holly has done other work - more recently, that Wim Hof thing for the Beeb. She could have found work elsewhere rather than turning a blind eye.
Holly loves her job and it works for her. I'd be reluctant to give up a job that is part time, works around kids and is term time with Fridays off and very likely extremely well paid
Me too, which is why I'd have had been receptive to her had she just said that - it's the blatantly false dumb bunny act I take exception to.
Nobody can sack PS for having sex with an other adult, especially when that other adult says they didn't have sex. ITV cant go around doing any more covert or overt investigating other than taking their word for it. That would also be shocking.
Agreed - but they went one step further by giving Phil a stunning and brave coming-out ceremony - to make this story go away. Plus if there are NDAs in place, it's not a good look for them at all.
PS is obviously a very talented broadcaster/actor and has not been truthful
He's a presenter, he's not David Attenborough
it looks like he cherrypicked this young boy out from the theatre group. Did he do it because he fancied him and played a long game until the point he was legal. It looks like it, but can you prove it
Not necessarily. We don't know the dynamics at all to any of it.
this is a mess of PS making. I don't think any blame should be put on anybody else
Disagree - the ITV management should be held to account. It's on their watch.
His co-workers who allowed themselves to be manipulated (sofa display to head off any press story, homage to Phil after he stepped back etc) need to put that in context by being honest rather than hypocritical.
certainly ITV needs to look at their safeguarding measures to prevent abuses of power with a safe route to report concerns
Crux of it.

I am, however, still not buying the Poor Sweet Summer Child Holly angle. Occam's razor = they all knew and did nothing about the managing out of someone relatively young/green, who was vulnerable/had health issues.

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 30/05/2023 10:00

Holly cherry picked Alison as she knows she'll make her look good.

No way would they bring in an experienced broadcaster to present alongside Holly as it would show her up.

I said at the time how the friendship looked convenient for Holly as Alison had been on T.M for years but wasn't useful then.

There was a segment a while back where Alison was fawning over Holly. You could tell it was a rare thing to be close to her despite working together for years.

When T.M was being accused of lacking diversity, they brought in a chef called Will. Holly made a point of mentioning she knew his mum live on air. As in I know black people, it was disingenuous and Will' s face said it all.

When the Queen died, they had a phone in from viewers who had met her and how she's touched their lives.
Most of the time was taken up by Holly reading letters her kids had written to the Queen.
I remember thinking how self absorbed she was then.

Unfortunately there's been examples of how she treats people badly or ignores/dismisses anyone not of help to her.
So not surprised she doesn't know her colleagues by name.

He was also, for many, the face of their childhood. They grew up with him and Gordon the Gopher in the Broom Cupboard then Live and Kicking. He played on this whiter than white image. Only now it seems it was all a lie.

Flunkey · 30/05/2023 11:23

Did Alison Hammond just overly praise Kate Lawler on This Morning as though to be nominating her for a bigger presenting role? 👀 anybody else just see that?

RedToothBrush · 30/05/2023 11:24

Na. Probably just grateful for someone else to turn up in the absence of other guests.

Meltinthemiddle · 30/05/2023 11:57

Yes I saw that Flunky, it was strange comment.

nowinhouse · 30/05/2023 13:09

Its pretty simple. It was an open secret. She was as complicit as all the other managers for not calling him out on it. None of them did because he was the big star and in the woke world of tv didn't actually do anything wrong. There are photos of ps, mm and hw together. He apparently proclaimed his love for ps. Its a nonsense she didn't know about the relationship. She clearly didn't think it was wrong though and he was presumably legally of age - morally abhorrent in my view though. And that is why her career will struggle to get past this as with the full glare of sunlight its pretty shocking.

nowinhouse · 30/05/2023 13:11

Ps no one cares ps is gay.

Tidsleytiddy · 30/05/2023 13:24

How could HW and her family go on holiday with Schofield and his family knowing all that was going on? Can we assume his wife knew? Didn’t give a toss as long as the money kept rolling in?

Tidsleytiddy · 30/05/2023 13:25

I also couldn’t give a shit if he’s gay but I’ve never heard cheating on your wife described as “stunning and brave” before. The whole thing is bizarre

We get the gist of the kind of character PS is, the wife must provide a service to him. I doubt we will ever know what went on there.

It all sounds quite the exclusve party between PS and those he allowed into his life.

I don't watch a lot of TV. When I did watch TM, I got the impression the crew, HW and PS were all laughing along together. Now we know that the crew were virtual strangers to HW & PS, that they never spoke and not only didn't they know names, they were not allowed to say "hello" or look at them in passing if walking the opposite way in a corridor, to the point, it is claimed in a SP video that HW would stop, turn her body to face the wall if she saw someone.

Very strange.

Tidsleytiddy · 30/05/2023 14:26

Pair of absolute weirdo prats. Glad it’s all come on top. Fake as fuck.

Tidsleytiddy · 30/05/2023 14:28

When she stood in for Ant on I’m A Celeb she looked out of her depth. She had no humour about her. Just looked awkward next to Dec. I don’t understand the hype around her and how she gets so much work. Even involved in Marks and Spencer. Wtf?

That was abroad.

I gather party time in the UK is different.

lollipoprainbow · 30/05/2023 14:58

She's been treated like a little princess for so long by the tv producers one of which is her hubby. What holly wants holly gets. Can't wait to see her fall from Grace.

So to put this in context, if you believe what SP and E H.

The staff on set don't know them, they never speak, if they pass each other in a corridor they see a back looking at a wall.

This is a party for two that everyone is watching.

I don't know how they lower themselves to have sex with someone in order to have children with that attitude.

So... that was 2014 and the affair was still a thing in 2019/20? So what age was the boy then?!!

The MAN was 19.

Ah well then, that's ok! 🙄

My DC is 19. I would be livid if someone so much older and more powerful took advantage like this!!

@TeaYarn This is why the argument that many celebs have large age gap relationships so what’s the problem doesn’t wash with me.

The lover was a child when they met, not a grown man in his 20’s. It’s completely different when two grown adults are involved. Someone in their 50’s pursuing a teenager is horrible.

I can just about remember the Bill Wyman/Mandy Smith in the late 1980’s. Similar age gap and even back then it caused a scandal as he admitted he’d slept with her underage. This situation is marginally better as the older man waited before taking advantage of the teenager.

I’m not suggesting the relationship is anything other than abuse. But we don’t need to infantilise the victim. His name is being thrown around these forums. He’s being spoken about like he’s some form of entertainment for a bunch of bored mothers with a grudge against PS. He’s a human who deserves respect. This might be your entrainment but it’s his life.

The pics posted on here a couple of times of her and a drunk MM after the 2020 NTA awards have made it to Mail Online. I thought a few days ago that she could easily ride this all out but not anymore.
