Ok I know I've spelt her surname wrong... but here we are. We all know who I'm talking about!

I just don't understand why social media has turned on her, almost blaiming her for allowing Phillip S antics to go on?

Why is she responsible for his actions????

And for those saying "she must've known"... maybe she didn't! Maybe she kept out of it or maybe she didn't know the full one and puts.
Why so she being Blaine's. Am I missing something??!

It would appear that reality hasn't quite hit him yet - because no one is going to believe a word now that comes out of his smarmy mouth.

I have a nasty feeling he's deluded enough to think he can salvage his tv career. He's mistaken.

From all accounts, he loved being the centre of attention so I suspect he's going to find his retirement quite the disappointment. Not to mention the rumours will swirl around him for a while. The money will soften the blow but he's a fame-hungry prima donna and will hate being unimportant and irrelevant. And I suspect his dinner invites may be about to dry up...

There's always GB News.

If I'm still getting away with it, I'll be a happy man': Phillip Schofield's comments to his younger lover caught on video as he issues defiant statement amid storm over 'toxic' This Morning culture
Phillip Schofield joked about 'getting away' with things when asked by his younger lover where he saw himself in the future.
The presenter's lover was working as an ITV production assistant at the time, and in a showreel filmed in 2014 the pair are seen joking with one another about Schofield's long career on This Morning.
In the video seen by MailOnline, the 61-year-old presenter - who today issued an extraordinary statement hitting back at claims of a 'toxic' work culture - jokes that he 'can't find a way out' of presenting This Morning after having hosted the show for 12 years at the time.

I'm no fan of Phil Schofield but there's nothing weird about this. Hes,talking about his job not his, relationship(s). He's just trying to be self-deprecating in saying that people say he's doing a good job but actually he thinks he's just been lucky and doing anything special but is happy to think he's "conning" everyone into thinking he's talented. People who have jobs that other people envy say it all the time.
You're just taking an innocent comment and twisting it.

User1529865 · 29/05/2023 16:46

Yes, the DM link above is about the job, I don't know why they call it exclusive as it doesn't really say anything of note

Agreed. It's deliberately taken out of context.

The comment may have been meant innocently, however the reality is that he DID try to get away with lying about his sexual relationship with the very person he was chatting to in the clip! Thus there's nothing wrong, nor twisted, in highlighting that the comment (regardless of whether he meant it 'innocently' or not) was astoundingly accurate to the circumstance!

It is twisting it to imply he was talking about his sexual relationships when, as you say, the comment was an innocent reference to his job.

BonnieBobbin · 29/05/2023 18:10

The problem with posting rubbish is it that it diminishes the real issues. It's not about someone making a fairly common joke about getting found out at their work. It's about bullying, grooming, unsafe work environments, and cover ups.
People posting bullshit just dilute the seriousness of what did happen. And it tries to divert those important conversations into inconsequential detours and dead-ends.
It makes it easier for the real issues to be dismissed because they can point to the nonsense and say 'it's just all like that and there's nothing valid to criticise'.

Greenpolkadot · 29/05/2023 20:01

She asked him and she SAID he lied,,not quite the same thing, she might might be lying too.
Of course he could always turn it on her and say that she did know

mids2019 · 29/05/2023 20:18

@grass321

I actually am now starting to believe PS is deluded enough he can make a bone back. I thought after the weekend he would leave social media and retire from the public view. However PS is now issuing statements about a group with a 'grudge' being responsible for saying the working environment was toxic. I think he is highlighting his years of work as means of gaining credibility and wants to change the narrative to one of a witch hunt with homophobic features

Porridgealert · 29/05/2023 20:55

I thought after the weekend he would leave social media and retire from the public view.

Why should he though? He hasn't broken any law and he doesn't think he's done anything wrong. Despite other people's opinions, he's allowed to stand up for himself. You can already see, on this thread alone, how people have twisted things he's said in the past so of course he's going to feel hard done by.
It's over for him i, really, at least in the short term, but I can't blame him for going down fighting.

And therein lies his problem. He can continue to keep digging and drawing attention to that.

He's too ruddy arrogant to do anything different. He thinks he's above everyone else.

It's fine by me if he keeps proving the issue.

Is it because he thinks he's above everyone else, though? Or is it because in his mind he believes he has treated people well and he doesn't believe he's done anything wrong?
You see it on here quite a lot, people complaining how they've been treated by work, friends husbands, whatever. And even though other posters tell them that actually they're in the wrong, they won't have it. Because it's hard to see that your own errors and it's even harder to see things heaped on you that you know aren't true. Eg, the twisting of the "getting away with it" comment about his job being made into something sinister about young men.
The urge to fight back must be huge and he knows that if he doesn't limit some of the damage now, there won't be a chance to redeem himself in the future.
I mean, I really don't like him. Or Holly or Rylan or Alison. I guess I'm not TM's demographic and I don't watch so I don't care. But I just can't get over how the country has got to the point where a morning show presenter has become this pile on figure of hate. The pressure he's under must be absolutely obscene. People should step back and think how they'd like it if the press, social media and the public did this to one of their children.

He said he did an unwise but not illegal thing.

He's spent a lot of money covering it up.

He's lied about it for years.

Porridgealert · 29/05/2023 21:41

I'm not arguing with you @RedToothBrush I fully take your point. He's getting his comeuppance.
But I don't think he has to retire into some sort of social purdah just to please the general public. And I don't blame him for not just allowing pile-ons and twisted facts. As I said I don't like him, but the pressure of being public enemy no 1 is crushing.

So... that was 2014 and the affair was still a thing in 2019/20? So what age was the boy then?!!

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 30/05/2023 01:17

The new interview with Eamon implies a lot of people knew.

Interesting how Holly's always said if it all ended, she would be alright as all she needs are her kids and husband.

Yet she's holding on for dear life.

Easy to say when you're a millionare but equally surprising to keep being associated with the current storm when she could leave it all behind.

@Treesandsheepeverywhere Yep it is easy to say and in keeping with her brand.

She still has decades of earning potential left and probably has advisers telling her how to navigate her way through the current situ.

She could keep earning, but away from T.M
I would think the best thing to do is disassociate from itv as staying on with all the stuff that's coming out, is a sure day to damage her brand.

I feel it's more about power and control as she doesn't necessarily need the money.

The reason most people stay in bad jobs is for financial reasons.

She's a millionaire but still wants more.

milkyaqua · 30/05/2023 02:19

MVGsDarts · 27/05/2023 21:10

It was common knowledge. Of course she knew. Ruth Complained to itv bosses and was then banished from this morning along with her husband amongst others. It was also pretty easy to find on Twitter (and has been known in media, tv and theatre circles for a long time -pre his admission of being gay) there's no way she couldn't have known about it.

If I knew about it years ago, on the other side of the world, how is it she didn't know about it when she was right there? It's been common knowledge for years, and gossiped about online. The rumours around the affair with the young fellow being about to break to a wider audience was the impetus for PS to come out. Blind Freddy could have told you PS was gay, anyway.

porridgeisbae · 30/05/2023 02:20

She's a millionaire but still wants more.

Of course. I mean, TM will probably rebrand. But there'll be other roles for her at ITV. Most people are hacks when it comes to their careers. She wants to keep as many of her options open as possible and keeping schtum probably will do that.

I haven't watched much of her, but as far as I know her brand and schtick is being fairly wholesome, curvy and blonde. She doesn't have to do much more than that. So all she has to do is sit and wait it out.

I've bought her Nutrisse hair dye a few times. Grin

The 'she's a diva really' rumours maybe even add dimension to her public image. Not addressing those claims at all- 'never apologise, never explain' is probably her best option.

GoOnHoliday · 30/05/2023 07:08

She now has a brand of a zombie neglectful mother.

She has no friends at work, just a few showbiz women she has a night out with a few times a year.

Holly is just a pretty face that people projected a character onto.
