Ok I know I've spelt her surname wrong... but here we are. We all know who I'm talking about!

I just don't understand why social media has turned on her, almost blaiming her for allowing Phillip S antics to go on?

Why is she responsible for his actions????

And for those saying "she must've known"... maybe she didn't! Maybe she kept out of it or maybe she didn't know the full one and puts.
Why so she being Blaine's. Am I missing something??!

The person was young? But how young? Men have affairs with young women all the time.

True. Have they groomed them since they were pre-teens?

It doesn't really help that he ignored his brother's sexual abuse of an underage boy as well.

Altogether a bad look.

Or maybe it's just because he's gay. Not many gay men on TV. Or men who've had affairs.

Mrsjayy · 27/05/2023 21:18

Sorry I meant to quote @RudsyFarmer .

I wonder what Philip schofield would say if a creepy 50 odd year old man was having sex with his 18 year old daughter.

But old men have sex with 18 year olds all over the place and it rarely raises an eyebrow. All the sugar daddies paying for it!!! What a it because he’s on tv?

Didn’t Prue Leith write in her autobiography that she was having an affair with the husband of her mother’s best friend when he was in his forties/fifties and she was in her late teens? Where’s the outrage there? She went on to marry him.

midnightblue12 · 27/05/2023 21:22

I've never been a fan of PS. I don't like his interview or presenting style. I just always thought he was. Abit arrogant so never really paid any attention to him. Im not overly suprised to hear the stories coming out and sadly I expect there could be more (but who knows, not me!).
I just don't feel comfy nlamining HW though. There was a thread recently where an OP found Out about a managers affair and wanted to tell his wife and she was shot down for being interfering and told to concentrate on her job. I've been in the exact same situation. I've also had people on my office let go for being inappropriate etc. it's awful, absolutely disgusting. I don't condone it and never will. But am I as bad as HW then for carrying on? Why was everyone telling that OP to ignore but coming for HW?
I get the details are different... but yeah.

Media reports say that the affair partner was 18 and PS was around 50 (I think).

So it’s very unsavory. I say this as the Mum of an 18-year-old. 🤮

ArcticSkewer · 27/05/2023 21:23

I agree about HW. It's got to be a woman's fault somewhere though. That's the rule

NoTouch · 27/05/2023 21:24

No respect for holly, dermot or alison all publically playing tribute to him or thanking him when he has behaved terribly, sacked in disgrace, they would have all known the rumours had been there for years . They would have shown more character saying nothing about him and just getting on with the show.

Well he told his brother to stop it apparently months before he was arrested, he just seems to be an all round repulsive human being and its eventually caught up with him.

highlandspooce · 27/05/2023 21:25

She knew alright. She is trying to save herself from sinking with him.

OrwellianTimes · 27/05/2023 21:25

RudsyFarmer · 27/05/2023 21:13

I still do t really understand why we’re all hating him. Is it because he had an affair? Because he’s gay? Because the person he had the affair with was young and the rumour is he manipulated the person into a sexual relationship?

I can’t work it out. I don’t like him because he’s everywhere and seems a sanctimonious prick but I can’t work out why this is constant front page news. People have affairs all the time and keep their jobs. The whole of parliament lie all the time and keep their jobs. What am I missing?

Can you read that back to yourself please? How can you not hate on someone who “he manipulated the {young} person into a sexual relationship”

That is a vile thing to do at any time, let alone if you’re in a position of power.

Younger.

But legal, apparently, so that's fine.

I was just thinking about those creepy teachers who wait til their pupils are 'legal' cos that's fine. They get struck off nowadays thank goodness.

Tbf poor Alison and Dermott I guess they were just doing their job Dermot didn't say much it fell on Alison.

aperolspritzbasicbitch · 27/05/2023 21:27

If Phil randomly met an 18 year old out at a bar and got his end away, that would be one (really rather questionable) thing.

But to know someone as a 12 year old child, when you are a fully grown man, and then engage in sexual activity, is something else entirely.

It might not be illegal, but it's still bloody wrong.

ArcticSkewer · 27/05/2023 21:27

Oh yes, my mistake, so he did.

I think that's what you do, isn't it, when you find out someone is a paedophile? Give them a bit of a telling off and tell them not to do it again.

We had this when 1 of my dc were in school the boy was 17 she was his maths teacher quite rightly she was prosecuted.

Justmuddlingalong · 27/05/2023 21:29

I think she stayed onside with him, because she's aware of the clout he had and didn't want to be on the receiving end of his ire.
Until there was no option but to distance herself.

HamBone · 27/05/2023 21:29

@ArcticSkewer Ugh, that makes my flesh crawl.

@RudsyFarmer I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make, tbh. How do you feel about teenagers having a relationship with adults 50+?

OrwellianTimes · 27/05/2023 21:29

RudsyFarmer · 27/05/2023 21:17

But I’d it illegal or are we morally outraged?

Is grooming illegal?

Well yes don't do it again is just what they need eh!

I saw online Phil had his elderly mother out for a walk the other day, all I could think was that poor woman.

Mirabai · 27/05/2023 21:31

Women have to work with arseholes all the time. If we all had to fall on our sword every time we had to work with one half of us would be out of a job.

He enabled himself. No woman is responsible for his behaviour. Only him.

mastertomsmum · 27/05/2023 21:32

The whole thing is a distraction from real news. As for Holly- definitely no Fern or Judy. As for Philip - definitely no Richard or even Dermot.

Yep.

We can’t hold a man responsible for his own behaviour. A woman must be to blame somewhere particularly if she’s pretty and rich.

I don't like her at all. Such an insincere fake. Hope she goes too.,

User1529865 · 27/05/2023 21:39

I don't really like HW that much especially after the queue jumping episode but whatever PS did it's not her fault, the ITV bosses were his employers not her, it's like being blamed for what a work colleague did.
