Ok I know I've spelt her surname wrong... but here we are. We all know who I'm talking about!

I just don't understand why social media has turned on her, almost blaiming her for allowing Phillip S antics to go on?

Why is she responsible for his actions????

And for those saying "she must've known"... maybe she didn't! Maybe she kept out of it or maybe she didn't know the full one and puts.
Why so she being Blaine's. Am I missing something??!

I remember in college I had a friend (so 18ish) who was in a relationship with her dads friend.

This friend of her dads had actually watched her grow up….even babysat at times.

I remember feeling really grossed out by that

That is disgusting it really is I don't care what anybody says about being legal it's just not right.

Sigmama · 28/05/2023 17:42

Yeah it's a bit woody allen

Inkanta · 28/05/2023 17:48

People who turn a blind eye are complict. Whilst they are not as culpable as the wrong doer obviously, they enable behaviour. To suggest this is people blaming a woman for a man's behaviour is nonsense, it's a different issue. The same applies to the management at ITV who knew. They were all choosing to support their own cash cow when it suited them
Yes HadleyVaugn well put. The perpetrator is the perpetrator - yes, and the enabler turning a blind eye is icky and can't be underestimated. The concept that they are 'nice' falls away.

@GrinAndVomit

Do you think even if she gets gigs the public will follow? What vehicle could be used for her talents?

The public are fickle and mostly just watch who ever is on. Especially in the type of shows she presents. PS might not survive this but HW, with the backing of DB, absolutely will.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if she doesn’t lean in to this “fellow victim” part she’s currently playing to bolster her image and profile.

Truthful people are not seen as nice, neither do people who safeguard look nice.

Pushing #bekind and being inclusive of all is not a good thing.

Predators need to be excluded.

Can't wait to see her bubble burst she's had it good for too long.

@Travellingwillow

Just a witch hunt basically. Ok, he had a brief fling with a young adult who he first encountered as a 15 year old. Somewhat iffy maybe, but then nobody casts judgement on Macron and what’s her name who did the exact same thing - worse really as she was his teacher. In fact even one of the very occasional article which questions the morality of it, still ends up celebrating it in the end!

“As an older woman myself (ooh la la!), I can simultaneously acknowledge the weirdness and still cheer him on, her on and them on. And that is because, like 15-year-old Emmanuel Macron, I am an adult. Would that others were as mature as us.”

https://www.theguardian.com/fashion/2017/may/15/it-isnt-wrong-to-raise-an-eyebrow-at-how-the-macrons-got-together

I lived in France for fifteen years, while Macron was starting his political party and rising through the ranks, mainly because of the disenchantment of many French with the dishonesty and corruption of the political class ( sound familiar ?). Fillon , Sarkozy , thé shenanigans of the ‘partners’ of Hollande all enabled his first victory.

Many people, including published journalists, were very uneasy about the Macron relationship, and the fact that it started when she was his teacher. The feeling was that he had been taken out of a ‘normal’ path of development, including the ability to have any children of his own. The mere fact that many publications had to decry the ‘ ageism ‘ of much of the commentary on their relationship, shows what many people thought of it.
Of course the Guardian, that bastion of boundary demolition, may like to pretend otherwise.

Wheresthebeach · 28/05/2023 18:59

As more people publicize that they raised concerns and were managed out, the worse it looks for Holly.

RedToothBrush · 28/05/2023 19:04

Social media is saying that up to eight people are considering bullying complaints about This Morning and this evening Dr Ranj has publicly said that there was a toxic culture on the show and about why he left. He didn't want to sell his story to the press and instead has done it on instagram.

He is saying that this goes well beyond simply Schofield - there is a wider problem with the show. He's named Martin Frizell as being a problem and that he raised a complaint against him. He says he raised it with top bosses at ITV. He feels he was managed out as a result of his whistleblowing attempt.

This is going to keep blowing up for a while by the look of it, and is now likely to suck in others. Who that means is now the question.

The show is going to get axed pretty quick I suspect with a reboot / rebranding to a new similar show.

Willoughby is on leave until the 5th June. I wonder if she will return at all now at this point.

Can you imagine what the mood on set is going to be like this week?! Fun for all who get that gig.

KatyKopykat · 28/05/2023 19:06

And what about Dancing on Ice? Tortilla and Dean won't want anything to do with either of them. It'll be two new presenters and no mention of the past just like with John Barrowman.

Phillip Schofield affair: This Morning to air as normal

Its doomed. They've just done the football manager has the full support of the chairman routine (the one where hours later the manager is potted).

Dermot and Alison are the lucky pair on tomorrow.

Who are they going to get a guests??! The booker is going to have to pull of a minor miracle this week.

HRTQueen · 28/05/2023 19:21

HW pr has been far too slow

it was only a few weeks ago she was still out parting and mixing in the same circles

her career has hugely benefited from being PS TV partner, they didn’t just work together they went on holiday, mixed socially they both cultivates a cosy relationship and she choose to ignore the rumours the bullying etc until it was damaging for her career only then has she distanced herself

I know this will be turned into a feminist argument by her pr team that she isn’t to blame for his actions and that is absolutely true but she didn’t need to play into this image of cute tv couple that suited them both she is responsible for doing this a woman with her success (and with her husband behind her) didn’t need to

Mrsjayy · 28/05/2023 19:24

Poor Dermott and Alison the news of the say segment is going to be elephant in the room!

I can't place Martin Frizell was he a breakfast tv presenter married to Fiona Phillips?

Mrsjayy · 28/05/2023 19:25

News of the day*

RedToothBrush · 28/05/2023 19:26

Worth pointing out that Dr Ranj is gay. He was married to a woman for four years before coming out to her in 2009. (So a full decade before Schofield). He talked about his sexuality publicly some years before Phil's Coming Out show.

So the talk about homophobic attacks on Schofield are hard to square in this context too. Its hard to argue at this point there wasn't a culture problem on the show.

With Dr Ranj breaking ranks and going public, others are likely to look around and ask their own questions about whether they should back him up or stay silent. I would be surprised if he was the only one to do so tbh.

His statement also contrasts to HW statement. Others lining up with Dr Ranj will add pressure to HW's position and affect her image...

AttilaThePun · 28/05/2023 19:30

Tortilla and Dean 😂😂

Mrsjayy · 28/05/2023 19:30

I think Dr Ranj does the morning live on the beeb now, I didn't realise he had been pushed out of itv like this.

I needed the laugh today and that one did it.

Royalbloo · 28/05/2023 19:34

Dr Ranj is so fit (misses the point of the entire thread) - I have a bit of a "thing" about him.

RedToothBrush · 28/05/2023 19:34

Amanda Holden made a complaint about Schofield after he wanted Rochelle Humes over her to fill in for HW because she was “easier to manage” on air.

Ruth Langsford made complaints about Schofield to Emma Gormley (Head of ITV Daytime)

Dr Ranj also raised a complaint to Emma Gormley about Martin Frizell (This Morning's Editor)

Sounds like these two are going to be firmly in the firing line.

Royalbloo · 28/05/2023 19:34

Just me then?!!!! Lol

mids2019 · 28/05/2023 19:35

@RedToothBrush

it should be fairly easy to change the name of the show and have a bit of a revamp (new furniture/setting etc). I agree that the name is tainted and there will have to be some thought about how to transition to a new label.

I think that means Holly is entrenched with the TM label and so any OF fro.her may need to have her try and portray herself as a victim rather than an integral part of the show culture. A Holly bares all exclusive in a sympathetic magazine?

I remember Amanda Holden was in the running to replace Fern when she left but PS wanted Holly. Amanda Holden had been covering if I remember correctly.

JenniferBooth · 28/05/2023 19:48

A few months ago Woman and Home had a piece written by a woman whose husband came out as gay after many years of marriage. It was awful to read. She said it explained why their sex life was "clunky" A while after he was even excitedly showing her pics of his new boyfriend. What right do men have to do this to women. She did say at the end of the piece that she is now in a new relationship and how wonderful it is to finally be desired.

Doing something like this is robbing the women in this kind of situation of the chance of being loved in the way they deserve. Both emotionally and sexually It is cruel.
