@PinkRiceKrispies

22C here today and too warm for me. House gets so stifling, it's just horrible.

Why? Confused Why is your house stifling when it's 22C? Do you not have any windows open? Do you have the heating on or something? Confused It was in no way 'stifling' anywhere in the UK today.

I find the people who moan about 20 - 22 degrees C being stifling and too hot, are often the same ones who complain about the cold in winter, and stick the thermostat up to 26 C.

Serial moaners. Nothing is ever right for them, or good enough for them.

Theoldwrinkley · 24/05/2023 19:59

I think it's going to be a hot summer. Old wife's tale (I am an old wife) 'ash before oak we're in for a soak, oak before ash we're in for a splash'. The oak trees are in full finery the ash tree leaves just unfurling. Of course it might be ash 'dieback'....
And there is discussion of 'El Ninia' happening in the South Pacific. I think that means very hot.

Can those of us who like the cold weather do the same in reverse then and laugh at you for not coping with the cold, after all Norway has it worse.

Who says that people aren’t coping with the cold? 😂 It’s shite and never ending but certainly not something to ‘not cope’ with.

I’d agree if we were talking about those people who panic at the sight of an inch of snow on the ground which is equally laughable but sadly for the most part it’s just miserable and cold here (apart from a few warm sunny days which lead to threads like this and posts on Facebook complaining about people walking their dogs in 20 degree heat).

Jayne35 · 24/05/2023 20:19

*posts on Facebook complaining about people walking their dogs in 20 degree heat).

Ha ha. I am deleting every friend that shares that this year. I am not keeping my cocker spaniel in for 4 months! Why do people feel the need to instruct their ‘friends’ on how to do things? That bloke you saw on the beach with 5 massive furry dogs in 30 degree heat won’t see your post. 🙄

Jayne35 · 24/05/2023 20:21

I don’t like it too hot but this weather saves money when energy prices are so high. I dried 4 loads of washing outside on Saturday 🙂

Where did the pp say they couldn't cope with the cold??? It's not a question of dealing with either heat or cold - many people manage to deal with both without all the dramatics.

GIorious · 24/05/2023 20:22

Yanbu OP. I have RA and the heat makes my joints swollen and sticky plus it makes my other symptoms (fatigue, insomnia, dry eyes) much worse too.

Fluff3 · 24/05/2023 20:29

Love this weather, but its colder than usual for this time of year so wouldnt worry about it to much.

Yep I don’t like the cold and dreariness that goes on for about 6 months. But I don’t moan I just accept it. I wouldn’t dream of moaning if that cold went on for a few weeks. And I certainly wouldn’t whinge the minute it turned a bit cold. Such whinging over a bit of normal May weather after the awful endless cold winter we had.

Delatron · 24/05/2023 20:32

And Monday’s forecast has now been revised down to 15-17ish degrees which is actually cold for this time of year so that should shut you all up.

Kyse23 · 24/05/2023 20:33

19-21c is my perfect if I could choose!
Redhead with a heat allergy but I've been enjoying warmer weather a bit more now on a biologic injection that works for my allergy
I burn within minutes

RampantIvy · 24/05/2023 20:38

Those of you who like damp grey weather - how do you dry your washing?

Inside, on an airer. Not allowed to dry outside so it doesn't make a difference to me. I do have a heated airer if I need it though

Isinglass20 · 24/05/2023 20:44

It was 13 degrees in Liverpool and I’m frozen 🥶

NotReallyBotheredByThis · 24/05/2023 20:47

I'm loving the weather now & can't wait for it to get warmer!!!

Summer is meant to be hot, we have Spring, Autumn & Winter for those of you that like to be cold - sorry, but you can't have Summer too!!!

PinkiOcelot · 24/05/2023 20:49

FooFighter99 · 23/05/2023 13:36

Middleagedspreadisreal · 24/05/2023 21:04

Love it. Autumn, Winter and Christmas fill me with dread!

sammyjoanne · 24/05/2023 21:07

As long as ive not got my heating on, its good for me :)

Rhaenys · 24/05/2023 21:29

It’ll probably be pissing it down in July OP so don’t worry too much. 😛

oviraptor21 · 24/05/2023 21:32

Not understanding all these London/SE posts. It's been 22C here today and not far short for the past week.
Anyway - its wonderful. Really hope we have a long hot summer with hopefully a few 30Cs in there.

MissingMoominMamma · 24/05/2023 21:33

I’m fit, but riddled with arthritis. The cool, wet spring has been shit for me. I’m on a U.K. holiday from Friday and I’m really looking forward to the soothing warmth on my joints ☺️.

rainydaysandtuesday · 24/05/2023 21:58

That's not hot though

What you on about?

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 24/05/2023 21:59

It was 26 degrees at 4pm on Sunday in Liverpool. That was quite nice.

No I'm not looking forward to a very hot summer.
