I'm worried for my dog

How do you think people around the world manage 😂

Honestly, mountain, meet molehill.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 23/05/2023 17:51

Not at all - lovely!

Finally we’re getting a bit of better weather after so many months of miserable cold.

We get precious little warm weather in this country, it feels so mean when a few people moan about it. I know they/ you can’t wish away the lovely sunshine but it feels like it!

Sunflowers80 · 23/05/2023 17:58

No, It's not even that hot. It's reasonable and just because end of May Is early to mid 20's doesn't mean all 3-4 months will be hot. Aside from 6-7 days of late 30's, I hardly found it that hot last year compared to where I went in the med. It's ridiculous, we need hot weather. Sick of months of cold and rain.

JaffaCake70 · 23/05/2023 17:59

I'm at a festival in Manchester next Sunday, I'm absolutely buzzin that the weather will be Scorchio!!!

Obels · 23/05/2023 18:00

Yeah, people are just different aren't they. I don't find the cold miserable at all! In fact a "lovely" day to me is an overcast grey day. I'm slightly on the hot side at the moment and it's 18 degrees. I wonder why people have such different temperature variations/tolerances.

loislovesstewie · 23/05/2023 18:01

A steady 28c till October will do me fine. I would also like overnight rain to water the gardens, but I sooo enjoy the heat!

WonderingWanda · 23/05/2023 18:05

Nope, I can't wait I have been so cold this winter and spring. Bring on the sunshine!

Delatron · 23/05/2023 18:06

That’s not remotely hot. If anything it’s too cool. There’s a north easterly breeze at the moment making the nights chilly, or if you get caught in the wind with no sun. Sadly not warm enough to sit out in the garden in the evening either.

I prefer it much warmer. Though I concur this country doesn’t do 30+ temperatures very well.

I think I’m solar powered. I get so much energy from the sun and light at this time of year. Don’t forget we had an awful rainy March.

It also doesn’t follow that just because we are having average to mild temps now that the summer will be dry and warm. Be lovely if it was though. After the endless winter and my ridiculous heating bills. Why wish that around quickly?!

EddieHoweisMYmanager · 23/05/2023 18:07

I can’t wait for some warmer weather. The cold grey lovers get 90% of the year, let me have that 10% without your moaning.

Delatron · 23/05/2023 18:09

Yeah it’s barely 10% int his country. You cold/wet/dreary weather lovers get months and months of your kind of weather. I
don’t moan constantly (because I’d be moaning 90% of the time).

Why moan about such a short period of weather?

ApplesandOrangesandPears · 23/05/2023 18:11

Heat makes me feel physically unwell and even at what others would call fairly low temperatures I suffer. My youngest is the same while the eldest just burns to a crisp through factor 50 (as do I). For some reason I seem very susceptible to heatstroke. My parents are sun worshipers and get SAD though so I know they'll be grateful for some sunshine. We're all different and there should be more tolerance for others feelings. Someone us will hate the heat and others will be looking forward to it, nobody's unreasonable either way until they start telling people they shouldn't feel how they do!

It;s the same when those of us who struggle with long nights and darkness start threads in October/November about how much we're struggling. The same people who are miserable about it being over 15c start banging on about "cosy" and "snuggling" and "hot choc with the famalam". Even though these people get their cold/wet/dark/miserable for 50 weeks out of 52, they can't understand that many of us hate it, and live for this time of year which has lovely long hours of daylight.

Absolutely bloody boiling with any luck!!

forgotmyusername1 · 23/05/2023 18:23

I have solar panels. Love it

maddiemookins16mum · 23/05/2023 18:35

Surely this is normal late spring weather. Hardly a heatwave. I’ve got a cardy on it’s chilly here (SE).

Catspyjamas17 · 23/05/2023 18:38

It fills me with joy. We've had so much rain and cooler weather for a long time.

Catspyjamas17 · 23/05/2023 18:40

Plus I can probably stop having the heating on in the morning. Cold weather is expensive.

highfidelity · 23/05/2023 18:42

Seriously?

No, not in the least. 24ºC is not hot.

Esjolaol1973 · 23/05/2023 18:43

Anything below 25c is really not very warm for me.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 23/05/2023 18:50

I want full on, to whack, high temperatures! Boiling hot nights and sunny days. I love it!

thefatpotato · 23/05/2023 19:28

EmmaEmerald · 23/05/2023 13:35

Come to London, we haven't had sun for ages

It was sunny this morning and it's sunny again now in my patch of London!

Ilovetocrochet · 23/05/2023 22:44

Here in Manchester, despite the sunshine today, it’s a bit chilly outside right now - 10.30pm. There is not much residual heat from the daytime sun at the moment so as soon as the sun disappears, the temperature drops. Makes it easier to sleep though!

TheGoogleMum · 23/05/2023 23:15

I agree OP, our house gets so hot. Right now at 11pm in our bedroom it's 24.7C according to baby monitor (Google weather says its currently 11C). I wouldn't mind so much if I was on holiday abroad and had air con and a swimming pool but in a normal house in UK it isn't much fun for me plus I'll be worrying about the baby getting too hot when we get a heatwave

doopsy · 23/05/2023 23:43

Am I dreading average June weather in June? Not at all, it’s about time we reached average and it actually feels like summer might be coming.

Verbena17 · 24/05/2023 00:02

Ginmonkeyagain · 23/05/2023 16:29

@Verbena17 I usspect that they think you are crazy because whilst everyone has different weather and season preferences 15 degrees C is objectively not hot.

I know - I’m not saying it is hot…..just that it’s too hot above 15 deg c for my body to deal with.
