The internet seems full of awful comments about Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

People should perhaps remember what happened to Caroline Flack!

I'm

NotMeSecretFormular · 21/05/2023 23:53

Be kind? Also known as don’t criticise me but I'll be a cunt to you whenever I feel like it. Maybe you'd better educate yourself on the facts here. He enabled a child abuser.
Flack was no angel, maybe read up on that too. When you're fully informed, you can take your "be kind" and stick it where the sun doesn't shine. There's no wanky phrase that can excuse complete ignorance.

@Dyrne

I'm not saying that we should condone his actions, or like him or ignore what he did.
But what are the people who are going to hounding him and troll him for weeks/months looking to achieve? What do you want to see happen now off the back of it? Do you want him to take his own life? Because that could be what happens.

It's because he's acting like he did nothing wrong and has been hounded out of this morning for no good reason. He should have been removed or removed himself the minute his role in facilitating his paedo brother was made public. If he showed an ounce of compassion for the boy he let down by not reporting his brother then maybe people would back off. He's a disgrace

Im glad at least some people can understand this! It also came out that he wasn't the first man she had treated like this.

Exactly got them to sing ndas to shut them up

i gave mental health problems but i dont go round hitting people

TooBigForMyBoots · 22/05/2023 00:22

Was PS particularly kind? No. And now he's discovering what goes around comes around. If he doesn't want to read mean things people are saying about him because he is in fragile MH, he should avoid SM.🤷‍♀️

tobee · 22/05/2023 00:22

Oh look an op who's started a thread and disappeared. Hmm

AnyaMarx · 22/05/2023 00:27

Fwiw

I think flack was deeply troubled . She did t deserve the press and troll intrusion.

However- what she did was on body worn video of the cops who got to the scene - she had hit her then partner with a lamp causing a head injury.

Had this been man hitting his partner with a lamp - same would have happened- Ie - arrest and decision to CPS .

CPS felt there was enough evidence to prosecute.

For me - there were other options . What happened to her was tragic .

Fame doesn't change how police should deal but her vulnerability should have been assessed and support put in place .
The media circus didn't help .

LadyRos · 22/05/2023 01:40

Philip is a bit different tbh

InBeautifulKindWays · 22/05/2023 01:44

Be kind to a nonce? No. Be kind to someone that covers for a nonce? No.

The world would be better off without people like this.

Murdoch1949 · 22/05/2023 02:18

£300,000 pay off for Schofield. There are very suspect rumours about the young runner on the show, with whom he was 'friendly', then not so friendly and the guy went to Loose Women. Photos and name are online. There is a cloud over Schofield, someone presenting a supposedly wholesome programme suddenly divulging he was gay, while in a 30 year marriage. That's some hypocrisy there. Willoughby has acted shrewdly and thrown her previous bezzie mate under a bus. Ever since the way they staged drunken photos on the sofa, pretending to be hungover after the NTAs, I thought how disrespectful that was to their viewers.

#bekind is a hashtag thrown around by virtue signalling twats.

Some people are awful, and it is ok to point that out sometimes.

I agree. But also people are human and can only take so much constant criticism before it gets to you.

blahblahblah1654 · 22/05/2023 02:31

I'm glad his nice guy mask has finally slipped. I don't think Phil and Holly were ever really friends anyway.

GladysHeeler · 22/05/2023 07:00

@reachingfeverpitch you should watch 'Keep Sweet' on Netflix and see what you think of Be Kind then.

piedbeauty · 22/05/2023 07:36

I am amazed by The amount of coverage of this. Who actually gives a shot either way? They're mediocre presenters if a daytime tv programme.

And I hate #bekind the way it's usually used - to shut people up, usually women.

Swrigh1234 · 22/05/2023 07:44

Notice how OP never came back?

Greenfairydust · 22/05/2023 08:10

Be kind?

Seriously?

I reserve my kindness for the young men who came in contact with PS and his brother...

One killed herself because she was going to go down for assaulting her boyfriend. This one is more similar to J.S.

I feel like this has been totally erased from the Caroline Flack narrative. Obviously still equally devastating for her friends and family, but surely a key driver in her suicide was the court case and the fact her drug abuse and history of domestic violence/NDAs etc was all going to be revealed in court and she was unlikely to get much work again. All anyone talks about is the press intrusion which of course would be a factor but the press intrusion was based on the crime she had committed. Doesn't make it any less sad but weird how it's been totally swept under the carpet in favour of #bekind.

Wonnle · 22/05/2023 08:14

#cancelschofield !

Odious little creep of a man

Allhailkingcharlie · 22/05/2023 08:15

How do we know it's anything like JS though??

Wonnle · 22/05/2023 08:16

He is supposed to be presenting a soap awards show isn't he ?

I'd like the so called stars of these soaps to decide not to attend if he is still doing that gig

I am not responsible for Caroline Flack. She was a deeply troubled individual that either didn't get the help she needed or it wasn't enough.

#BeKind is bullshit.

SchoolShenanigans · 22/05/2023 08:19

YANBU. I've researched why people hate him as I thought I'd missed something. I hadn't. People seem to think he's responsible for his brother's actions.

I highly doubt, anyone would call the police on their sibling if they admitted to watching porn with a 17 year old. I'd probably do exactly what Philip did, come down hard and tell them never to do it again. But I wouldn't be reporting my sibling over that one incident.

People are just looking for a scapegoat.

And plenty of people end their relationships after 30 years - if his wife can accept it, then others should calm the fuck down.

The reality is, most people aren't kind. And they're major hypocrites too.

So social media, and the people who use it, have no responsibility when continually talking shit about someone in the public arena?

Yeah right.

#bekind may be bullshit, but actually showing an ounce of humanity and actually being kind isn't. Try it :)
