To not understand what Philip Scofield did wrong?

I’m not a fan of Phil or Holly and have never watched This Morning. However, I’ve read about the issues the show has been facing in the news recently and am at a loss to understand why Phil had to step down. What did he actually do wrong?

I know his brother has been imprisoned for a heinous crime but obviously that’s nothing to do with Phil. So I don’t understand why he decided to resign.

They all went on holiday together with their families, including the brother... and Phil knew about the abuse.

Aside from the runner he first met through the youth theatre group of which he was a patron and the not reporting his nonce brother, there was the time he gave a character reference for a young male friend of his who was on trial for revenge porn. Why would you do that for someone who was a blackmailer and sex criminal?

Nailed it. I have been told by a very reliable source that once HW found out about the brother she was angry with PS for knowingly putting her kids at risk. That's friendship ending stuff right there.

I believe the runner was 8 when they first met, he may have been of age when the relationship happened but if that isn’t grooming I don’t know what is.

Be careful with your language. There is no such thing as “shagging kids”. It’s abuse/sexual assault on a child. Shagging and kids do not go together.

Phil has burnt his bridges. He is unpopular with many of his fellow celebrities , was involved in a dodgy relationship with a young runner and did not report a pedo to the police.
Furthermore, he is an arrogant twat of a man who treats people like shit .

I dont watch tv as dont own one and rarely read the papers but wish they would both go away, awful slimes the pair of them, i heard the runner got a big pay off to keep the affair quiet. i cant imagine watching day time tv....it all looks sad and shallow. have better things to do with my time.

Well OP, if you are not a fan of celeb gossip, for various reasons, the smug, talentless arsehole is no longer a money maker for ITV. The fact he managed to get to the position he held (certainly knows where bodies are buried) and be trusted to undertake excruciating and sycophantsic interviews with prime ministers/royals demonstrate why we need a license fee and the BBC.

Sleb gossip wise, it has been said above. And whilst people may dismiss it- remember Jimmy Saville and Rolf Harris. These rumours have been circulating for several years now

Yes his brother told him all this BUT the crucial boy is he told PS the boy was 16

So very sordid and very distasteful but to all intents and purposes, PS was led to believe this was a one off with a boy of legal age

There was no crime to report to the police in that case

Of course it's turned out that the boy was under the age of consent and he's rightly been jailed

There's definitely a really immoral vibe with PS not reporting because 16 is very young and clearly a man in his 50s is in a grooming position but there was no crime on the face of it at that time

He is a predatory man that had sexual relationships with impressionable young men that he had groomed while they were much younger, cheating on his wife in the process. That's now come out, though it's been an open secret for years, and is why he came out a few years back as the papers were threatening to report on one particular relationship with a runner on the show that he first met when he was very young. Brother confirmed to have done the same with a boy confirmed to be under age was final nail so ITV were forced to let him go.

I'm just hoping PS would take down HW with him whilst going down the drain.
