Dog walker killed by her own XL Bully Breed dog.

NOT a pack of 8 dogs as was reported repeatedly with concurrent complete slating of all professional dog walkers.

Absolutely awful. So many of us who have worked with dogs knew this would be the outcome and that packs of 8 dogs do not behave in this way.

After investigations are complete we are now told that the only dog destroyed was the walkers own XL Bully Breed dog. Over and over again it is these dogs and still today I see a man strutting around my locale with two of these type dogs, both unneutered and off lead 🤷🏼‍♀️

Imagine it could have mauled a child/children or a n innocent passerby

So they let two dogs involved in the mauling of a human being go home? 🤔 Worrying.

There is no confirmation that she was attacked by 8 dogs, there were only two witnesses who saw the incident from a distance and they removed themselves from the scene immediately. I have been a dog walker, when one dog kicks off it is total and utter chaos as they try to escape, which is what happened, all the dogs had to be searched for in the aftermath. You lead drop and let them go. She was unable to do this as they all got tangled up and couldn’t get away. They may have bitten her and each other in their desperation to get away but 8 dogs did not turn on her and all commit a coordinated frenzied attack.

It is just silly to keep asserting she was definitely attacked by 8 dogs, when the authorities don’t even know this given that they’re still investigating five of them and two have been ruled out and gone home. Only one has been destroyed, the one they know for certain killed her.

None of this was in the article and the witness didn’t say any of this so how could you possibly know? The only thing we know for sure from the witness is a group of about 4 were attacking the woman.
Out of 8 dogs 2 have been released, 1 has been put down and the other five are still being held in kennels. The investigation doesn’t seem to have made any suggestion that only 1 dog was involved in the attack so I’ve no idea why you’re so insistent.

Womanofcustard · 17/05/2023 19:31

Just to add, I personally would not use a dog walker who had one of that breed. My dog would be terrified of it.

I’ll return to this thread when the results of the inquest are available.

Aka I’ll retreat with my tail between my legs as I jumped the shark?

Chesneyhawkes1 · 17/05/2023 19:31

@Megifer agreed! And I really need my staffie!

Yankeedoodlemandy · 17/05/2023 19:31

I read a lot about issues with XL bully dogs. Is it an actual breed or are they bull dog crosses ? I don’t really understand . Awful story .

Superdupes · 17/05/2023 19:33

Do the people who go on about 'dog hater bingo' think that Pit bulls, Japanese Tosa's etc should be made legal? I'm not a dog hater but I think XL bullies should be banned.

WhatNoRaisins · 17/05/2023 19:33

Can a single person really safely walk 8 dogs?

The two dogs that have been released are Dachshunds, I'm not sure they would have been involved in any attack and tbh they were probably lucky that they weren't killed as well.

I had assumed that a fight had broken out, the dogs leads tangled, and they were all panicked and fighting, biting whatever was there. Possibly her dog turned on her during this or started the fight. Dogs really panic when they get tangled. I have seen a fight break out when this happened, with dogs who otherwise would have been fine together.
What a terrible situation, that poor woman.
I agree on XL Bullies though, why would anyone risk a dog of that breed ? So many fatalities recently from them.

Mirabai · 17/05/2023 19:40

The 2 dogs sent home were dachshunds.

I think it’s significant that the dog destroyed was a Bully, but the witnesses all described her being attacked by more than one dog.

How many people have to be killed before Bullys are banned?

Your comments are actually in very poor taste.
A woman literally died being attacked by dogs.
Take your ‘boohoo why doesn’t everyone love my dog’ comments to another post.

AlwaysGinPlease · 17/05/2023 19:42

@Sissynova there are posts far worse. I am sick of people using a tragic death for their own campaign so If you don't like it, scroll on by.

randomsabreuse · 17/05/2023 19:45

Cynically the bite patterns may have been conclusive at PM... no bites with little mouths so definitely no Dachshund bites, fatal wound caused by bite that was a match for XL bully shaped mouth and not other (pointier faced???) Dogs. Other wounds less conclusive match/less critical ...

NoTouch · 17/05/2023 19:46

What a crass, tasteless and pathetic thread to attempt to say "I told you so", "I knew" when it is still not clear what the full story is.

It isn't about you 🙄, or whose "theory" was right, it is about the woman who died and about the stupid lack of restrictions preventing irresponsible dog ownership, powerful breeds that should not be pets and walkers walking ridiculous numbers of dogs they cannot possibly be in full control of.

Comedycook · 17/05/2023 19:47

Pretty horrible story. At least it didn't kill a passer by .

TheFluffiestHobo · 17/05/2023 19:48

A young woman died in the most brutal way imaginable. Is this really the thread to play 'dog hater bingo' and sneer at other posters? Have some fucking respect.

Oysterbabe · 17/05/2023 19:49

I think the point of the thread is when the attack happened the It's Not The Breed dog obsessives were posting Look! Any dog can attack, Daschunds, a Leonburger. Then it turns out it was an XL Bully after all, as everyone knew it would be. Still they go on, there's no proof, other dogs attacked too! Of course it was the fucking bully who killed her and that will be the eventual conclusion.

I don’t think anyone knew it would be, it wasn’t one of the dog breeds mentioned at the time. Any type of dog can attack in a pack situation, surely everyone knows that.

Also teeth marks, saliva match..

That's actually no real point to the thread at all. Other than to hate on a breed. Go lecture elsewhere, I'm not interested in your l opinion. I think when people are using the death of a young woman for their own cause and some blaming her for her own death, that's disrespectful.

MakesMeFeelSad · 17/05/2023 19:52

I hadn't realised she was a dog walker. Presumably they can mach saliva as well as bite marks. Bloody awful

Was a pack of 8 dogs, her own dog was pts, 2 returned to owners, 5 dogs still held in kennels. Apparently the council say she didn’t have a professional license but her friends say she did? No person has control of 8 dogs no matter how good they think they are.
