To not understand why anyone would not watch the Coronation?

OK, I get that you are an edgy republican, but are you not a little bit nosy?
And if you really don't care, why are you on every Coronation thread telling everyone you don't care? Why would you not just ignore them, as you don't care?
I personally have no time for the Royal family and think they should be abolished completely, but I can't imagine not watching such a big thing for the whole country, in the same way I watched the euro Cup final even though I could not name any of the players as I have no interest in football.
Why wouldn't you?

We are watching Sing on channel 5.

The amount of coverage everywhere you can’t totally ignore it but I’m not going to be watching the highlights, reading the papers or looking online. I find it all disgusting.

I went for a run during the ceremony. I am watching Sky Sports while scrolling through Twitter - and now Mumsnet - reading everyone’s hot takes on the coronation.

I simply am not that interested in parades and ceremonies, as well as not being interested in royalty. I don’t think they make good TV. They are long and slow and boring. There’s no drama or jeopardy.

It's so boring! I wouldn't enjoy watching it so I don't. Same way I haven't watched Game of Thrones or been to see a ballet. Not my thing.

I just have no interest and no I m not curious either. I also didn’t watch the queen’s funeral or any of the royal weddings. If it interests you then go ahead and watch it though!

I didn't feel massively interested but watched it to support my mum and dad who wanted to watch it together .

It was tedious and tone deaf and boring and just appalling, I honestly feel beaten up and am googling how to support having a republic.

I just caught half an hour whilst visiting my mum. Glad to be home. Too much caterwauling and religion. Left just as they were leaving Westminster and feel I have seen plenty.

But then neither are on my radar so I wouldn't go on about how I'm not watching them either.

That's sort of what I mean. I suppose I don't understand why the only person on my Facebook feed who mentions the Coronation is the one sharing how little she cares about it.
I mean, I don't care about sport but I don't feel the need to tell people how little I care.

I've watched it. My teenagers and parents haven't, it's personal choice. It don't each euros, football etc because I don't enjoy it.

It's hard to believe, op, that you can't understand that some would prefer not to watch it? Or prefer to do other things with their time? For me, my time is precious so I choose to spend it doing things that are important to me

I'm watching Grey's Anatomy and finishing some ironing.

I actually forgot the coronation was today and wouldn't have known if I didn't come on here for a mooch about. I thought it was tomorrow.

I genuinely, honestly just don't care about the Royal Family. Until now I haven't mentioned my lack of caring once, anywhere.
