To not understand why anyone would not watch the Coronation?

OK, I get that you are an edgy republican, but are you not a little bit nosy?
And if you really don't care, why are you on every Coronation thread telling everyone you don't care? Why would you not just ignore them, as you don't care?
I personally have no time for the Royal family and think they should be abolished completely, but I can't imagine not watching such a big thing for the whole country, in the same way I watched the euro Cup final even though I could not name any of the players as I have no interest in football.
Why wouldn't you?

What's an 'edgy republican' then? Does that imply affectation? Is there such a thing as a non-edgy republican and would they watch the coronation?

Hi, zero interest in the coronation, find the whole concept grotesque, Charles is worth estimated £1.2bn, yet we all paid for that coronation and give him tens of millions from the taxpayer every year… (won’t even start on the rest) I was happy to boycott it.

What is the reason behind that? Is it some kind of law that the taxpayers have to pay for such things?

Because we went for a gorgeous walk and had the whole place to ourselves. It was blissfully quiet and not a bit interested.

Charles is just a bloke whose ancestors were vile, aggressive, greedy twats who thought they were better than everyone else and used and abused others to gain wealth and power. His ancestors then went on to maintain the wealth and power by any means possible.

They represent an outdated system to us, that desperately needs a rethink.

I’ve glanced at the newspaper on line to see the headlines but otherwise have enjoyed the sunshine and quiet. Had a lovely day.

I am even less interested in arguing about the coronation, than I was about watching it.

I am a bit fascinated that you watched the football finals despite having no interest in the game though, OP! What were you thinking, during the 90 minutes you spent watching it?

Do you watch other shit things, for fear of missing out? Eastenders xmas specials, Love Island, and that sort of thing?

None of us watched it .I have absolutely no time for anything to do with Royalty .State the Country is in with the cost of living so let's play dress up because some long gone relative managed to bag themselves a title .Nope not my cup of tea .Plus my weekend off better ways to spend it .

Because I don’t like Charles or Camilla. I get that me not watching changes nothing, and I’m not actually trying to change anything. I just don’t want to look at their faces in my living room.

I turned off when I watched a man Dayi g he was serving me wobbling around in a diamond encrusted gold crown and riding in a gold carriage while I pledged to serve the crown in my job - and yet am in insecure housing, drive a 13 year old car , struggle with daily living costs hobbling about with athritis and can't get a fucking referral from the nhs to a rheumatologist.

I like royal family. I think that makes us unique. And royal family attracts lots of tourism. But i dont watch coronation or funeral of the queen, etc. i find it boring. I dont care about royal family. I dont know them. What would i care?. I just think they good for attracting tourism.

My curiosity on over privileged individuals milking the population for their own frippery and rituals is limited to - no curiosity whatsoever.

I would happily watch them divest themselves of some of their properties and give the money directly to the needy, not through the corrupt sweaty mitts of this government

I'm a Republican and have absolutely no interest in watching this ridiculous parade of wealth and privilege. I'm not nosy either. I think it's a disgrace, why the hell would I watch it? And why the hell can't you understand that, shock horror, not everyone thinks the same as you?
