They are the freaks of the bread aisle.

I USED to, but not so keen now. Rubbery texture, doughy, not tasty unless they're slathered in butter! 4/10.

A fellow crumpet hater, tried one the other day to see if I'd suddenly started liking them, slathered it in Butter and looked lovely, took one bite and felt sick

Crumpets must be very well toasted - they need to be crunchy and very hot.

If not, they are disgusting.

Cook them longer than you think they need, let them cool ever so slightly and also crisp up, add more butter than you think you need. Perfect!

They’re repulsive!!!! The holes make me want to scratch my skin off. I won’t have them in the house. Can’t even look at them in the shop 🤮🤮🤮

Love them, but they've got to be cooked properly as in toasted until they are almost burnt and smothered in salted butter. If you don't toast them long enough they are a bit doughy and tasteless.

There's someone in halls who hadn't realised they needed to be toasted first...

There's a big difference between Warburton's (ultimate crumpet) and own brand (or there was last time I had an own brand one).

Warburton's (when thoroughly toasted), crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle.

Own brand - rubbery, just meh.

I thought they were Okay, but was introduced to then as a true delicacy when a friend explained how much better the Warburton's ones were. I'm not generally particularly brand fussy, but I am for crumpets.

None of my children like them which is a shame as they are so cheap

So many comments about toasted them thoroughly. Maybe this is where I've gone wrong. I think they are weird salty plastic rubbery bread.

They’re ok, but vastly overrated. Give me toast from a fresh bakery loaf, with lots of salted butter, any day.
