Exactly, what she said is accurate.
No it isn’t. Crack the spine of a history book for once in your life, you might actually learn something.
Turning to today though, many people are unaware of the Home Office’s official hate crime statistics (published last year) which show that despite making up a tiny fraction of the UK population, Jews were the victims of nearly a quarter of all hate crimes.
In the US, antisemitic incidents hit record levels in 2022, continuing a five-year upswing in antisemitism amid mounting fears the behavior of influential public figures like Donald Trump and Kanye West are normalizing hate. There are a lot of shocking statistics from the FBI on this.
I’m sorry I don’t know the equivalent figures for the traveller / Romani community, if anyone does have these I’d be interested to see them.
Diane Abbott's claim that Jewish people cannot suffer 'racism' is outrageous in itself, but made all the more extraordinary given all that has unfolded in the Labour Party over the past few years. She and her allies on the far-left of the Party could never accept how bad antisemitism had become because they do not even acknowledge that it is a form of racism. She was an uncompromising supporter of Corbyn, a man who as leader of a social Democratic Party party couldn’t accept the world definition of antisemitism because he breaches it. I’m delighted he’s been thrown out of the party.
And as for her, kick her out and keep her out. Her views mean she’s not fit for office.
By the by, this is a fantastic website for those wanting to learn more about historic and modern day antisemitism, and Jewish history in general - https://www.rootsmetals.com/ Well researched, balanced and fair minded.
