Just posting for traffic.

When do you prefer to shower? In the morning or in the evening? And around what time do you shower?

YABU - Morning when I wake up
YANBU - Evening before I go to bed

Wrote out a huge post but what’s the point- evening. Curly hair. Kids. Not a natural ‘stinker’ as my husband call them (he’s a religious morning showerer…yet somehow I do not repulse him?!)

I am struggling to imagine what possible context there can be, that you need to know urgently about strangers' personal hygiene. Any chance you might share why this is such a pressing question for you?

Morning but due to one bathroom and teen girls it's often easier time wise to do it in the evening!

User1794537 · 12/04/2023 08:20

DH always has his shower in the evening as he runs and cycles a lot so if he had a morning one he would have to have another in the evening

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 12/04/2023 08:21

Morning and evening. Sometimes a bath in the evening

DowntownKingston · 12/04/2023 08:22

Morning, I like to smell fresh. I’d feel dirty all day otherwise.

Magaluf · 12/04/2023 08:22

Depends what time my exercise class is and whether I’m wfh or in the office.

Evening if I am washing my hair, morning if I am not

Other way round for me, I look like something about Mary if I wash it at night!

DragonflyLady · 12/04/2023 08:32

Morning as I wash my hair every day and generally feel sweaty from a night’s sleep. Although if I showered at night I probably wouldn’t feel like that! But I’d still need to wash my hair anyway.

Paperexcelandpens · 12/04/2023 08:40

We are all evening shower people in my house. Can't imagine being out at work, socialising, exercising all day then getting into bed without washing. Makes me feel ill thinking about it.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 12/04/2023 08:45

One shower, start in the morning and it usually takes until early evening to remove all the ingrained dirt as I only shower on the last Sunday of the month.

It's ecologically sound as it saves water and I don't use soap but gravel.

Jagoda · 12/04/2023 08:49

Depends on what time I am starting work next day.

If I have to get up between 4 and 6, shower at night. If later, shower in morning.

blobby10 · 12/04/2023 09:01

Always just before bed - and in the morning too before work if I've been to the gym.

Natsku · 12/04/2023 09:06

Both. I have a cold shower in the morning after my workout as it makes me feel good and awake but I prefer to shower in the evening to wash my hair as I shower DS at the same time.

tourdefrance · 12/04/2023 09:10

Evening if I’m working the next day or have an early start, morning at the weekend.

IglesiasPiggl · 12/04/2023 09:15

Morning after my workout, but in summer I also shower in the evening.

Nap1983 · 12/04/2023 09:15

If working I shower at night as up too early. If off usually both. DH showers morning and night every day.

KimberleyClark · 12/04/2023 09:17

Morning and after working out. Unless you do a really sweaty/dirty job, or it’s hot weather, it’s not really necessary to shower before bed. As a pp says it wakes you up. Better to have a bath if you feel dirty.

PetitPorpoise · 12/04/2023 09:38

Evening is much more practical for me. If I've nowhere to be in a hurry though, I like to shower in the mornings. Sometimes I do both.

MasterBeth · 12/04/2023 10:29

Morning. Wakes me up, makes sure I'm fresh for the day.

Whattodo112222 · 12/04/2023 10:34

AM and PM - like to feel fresh in the morning and when I get into bed,

Twonewcats · 11/04/2023 23:38

Why on earth would some of you not shower in the morning? After a night of sweating etc, pillow hair, you get up and tidy yourself up and head to work? Bleurgh

Always someone being judgmental. I'm sure people are thinking you are disgusting that you drag all your daily grime into bed with you and mash your face into a pillow covered in pollution. But they are probably just more polite than you so keep it to themselves.

mybeautifuloak · 12/04/2023 12:34

ComputerWifeKaren · 12/04/2023 01:45

AM. Gets you in the right frame of mind, clean and ready to start your day. PM showers, why? Just to sweat in your sleep? Even following that with a flannel wash when you wake up (at least) that's a bit grim, then repeat? Hope you've got a good deodorant.
Morning/afternoon (lie in, woo) shower and teeth brushed, clean body, fresh clothes.

And people will think you are grim for going to bed with pollution and daily grime on you. Rubbing your face on a pillow covered in grime. How disgusting. Truth is we survive both. One is not better than the other. Washing once a day is fine for most people regardless of when.

Shower AM
Bath PM

Yes!

nigelthornberry69 · 12/04/2023 22:09

Okay I am coming back for some more, can the morning showerers please stop being mean to the evening showers! Just because you are a nasty sweaty bag of BO and bedhead first thing in the morning doesn't mean we all are. That's why you shower in the morning and us at night. 😁
