Just posting for traffic.

When do you prefer to shower? In the morning or in the evening? And around what time do you shower?

YABU - Morning when I wake up
YANBU - Evening before I go to bed

DH is always evening and I always used to be morning. But then decided I wanted to be clean in bed so started in the evening and then do a seriously quick shower/soap/sluice in the morning as I tend to get sweaty in the night.

Campervangirl · 11/04/2023 23:03

Both, wash my hair every other day in the morning and then a quick sluice after work

RuthTopp · 11/04/2023 23:05

I shower whenever , tonight it was around 6pm but it is also likely in the morning.
Having said that I can't imagine having a very late shower 10.30 pm+ . I also like a bath as well .

Groutyonehereagain · 11/04/2023 23:07

Evening, clean nightie and into bed feeling clean.

FairyUpLiquid · 11/04/2023 23:10

I have one in the morning and in the evening but both quick. I feel gross first thing in the morning where I’ve been in bed all night but equally gross in the evening where I’ve been doing stuff all day. That’s probably irrational and definitely not good for your skin but I just can’t help it. I’ll take a longer one if I’m washing my hair but that usually tends to be in the evening and usually no more than twice a week.

Sewingdufus · 11/04/2023 23:14

Morning for up and at ‘em days, evenings for PJ days.

JamMakingWannaBe · 11/04/2023 23:18

Evening. 10pm. To "wash the day away".

In Summer, I might have a very very quick shower in the morning.

24252627a · 11/04/2023 23:28

Both 😍
If I have to pick. Evening. Need to wash off the dirt from the day before climbing into bed.

Upwiththelark76 · 11/04/2023 23:29

Evening every time . Wash away the days dirt and grime and go to bed clean and fresh

skippy67 · 11/04/2023 23:30

Both .

Serena1977 · 11/04/2023 23:36

I shower/bath as soon as I get home from work. Psychological washes the day away. Easy wear on and then my time.

Don't shower in the morning unless I'm on my period or it's summer.

Twonewcats · 11/04/2023 23:38

Why on earth would some of you not shower in the morning? After a night of sweating etc, pillow hair, you get up and tidy yourself up and head to work? Bleurgh

DramaAlpaca · 11/04/2023 23:39

Every morning. I fall out of bed and into the shower and wash my hair. I feel horribly grubby otherwise.

If it's been a hot day or I've been exercising I'll have a very quick evening shower too.

HighInfidelity · 11/04/2023 23:44

Morning. I sweat far too much overnight to not wash in the mornings!

Oopswediditagain2023 · 11/04/2023 23:52

Evening and sometimes morning too. I hate getting into bed without having a shower first!

Crumpleton · 12/04/2023 00:39

Evening time.
Could never go to bed without a shower after mucking out horses/doing yard duties.

Sailingaround · 12/04/2023 00:43

If I’m out during the day either for a long walk, exercise or on public transport then I shower in the evening. If I’m going to he home all day which is normal for me as I WFH then I shower in the mornings. Often end up showering twice a day but for less than 10 minutes each shower.

Maple2023 · 12/04/2023 00:46

PM. Time varies as to when I finish work/exercise but somewhere between 6-8pm

Because then I would need to shower twice a day and my skin would hate me - I exercise in the evenings
No pillow hair as I wear a satin bonnet plus silk pillowcase, and I'm usually freezing so not sweaty overnight

nigelthornberry69 · 12/04/2023 01:26

This is way more even than I thought it would be. I always got the impression morning-showerers thought evening-showerers were gross and then evening-showerers just have to accept that we do things differently.

I never stopped evening showers from being a kid (you can't get 6 teens through the shower and out the door in the morning, never gonna happen) but it really works for me. I'm never up early enough or functional enough in the morning to shower. It's also a big part of my wind down in the evening. I love getting clean and putting my PJs on!

Theoldwoman · 12/04/2023 01:28

Both. For different reasons. Normal here.

Q2C4 · 12/04/2023 01:36

YABU. I wash my hair every morning. If I wash it at night it looks lank by the morning & dreadful by the next evening. Plus humans sweat a lot at night - a shower first thing gets the day off to a good, clean start.

ComputerWifeKaren · 12/04/2023 01:45

AM. Gets you in the right frame of mind, clean and ready to start your day. PM showers, why? Just to sweat in your sleep? Even following that with a flannel wash when you wake up (at least) that's a bit grim, then repeat? Hope you've got a good deodorant.
Morning/afternoon (lie in, woo) shower and teeth brushed, clean body, fresh clothes.

ComputerWifeKaren · 12/04/2023 01:50

Wash the days dirt away?! You're starting the day dirty and continuing it from there 😂 You get fresh for bed but not for spending the day out of the house?! BO affects other people! Regular fresh bed linen is nice too.

Ponderingwindow · 12/04/2023 01:50

Always before bed. I’m really disgusted by the idea of getting into bed without bathing first.
