Dalai llama ask a child to suck his tongue

Has anyone seen the new video of the Dalai Llama asking a child to suck his tongue. Yes. It sounds bizarre. But it is in the news right now. The video is out there. And the dalai llama is apologising on social media now

Im devastated! I went to see the Dalai Llama in India. He gave a speech on accepting and loving everyone, and that it didn't matter what religion we are. I always told people that it was one of the highlights of my life.

I went through life thinking he was a good person, that he was one of the good ones. To see this today, makes me think oh no is he yet another abuser.

Some people have remarked about this video that sticking your tongue out at someone is a greeting in Tibet.

However - the Dalai Llama kisses the child on the lips in the video, and asks the child to suck his tongue. It does not look right at all.

He has apologised on twitter now.

What do you all think?

Can anybody link to any credible research that dementia causes sudden onset full blown pedophilia? I expect not but it has been invented as a thing in the past day and I expect will be the line of argument they fall back on to save the cult.

No, it absolutely mustn't ever happen again. No one should be at risk of that behaviour.

IF he is suffering cognitive decline, I can believe the team around him didn't want to see it given the political implications. I don't suppose it crossed their mind that something as awful as this could happen.

I'm not a cult apologist. I don't want to criticise someone else's religion that I know nothing about, but I've always been surprised by the awe and respect the Dl is given by people with no cultural or religious connection to him.

As far as I'm concerned he's someone in a highly unusual position of ultimate privilege and ultimate lack of freedom. The best opportunities in terms of education and influence. Very few choices, given he was removed from his family as a toddler. Any appearance he gives of great wisdom is down to that, imo.

I'm not actually a fan.

Sexually inappropriate behaviour is a well known symptom. Including to relatives, children - there aren't any usual boundaries.

Early subtle symptoms of dementia include personality changes and lack of judgement well before the onset of memory impairment etc - sometimes only apparent in retrospect when the diagnosis has been made

Last year the DL was reported to be 'in very good health' and I imagine he has excellent healthcare and regular health screening which would include assessment for dementia/cognitive impairment

This information about his health was released wrt to the discussions around how they will find his successor - huge conflict with China about this who want to see an end to the DL's 'Tibetan government in exile' on his death

So putting him away quietly would have repercussions beyond his spiritual role

If that man has dementia and dementia makes him act in a sexually abusive way to kids, he needs to be kept away from children. Who will take responsibility to ensure the DL is never in the vicinity of children, whether it's in front of cameras or without witnesses?

I'm also rather that the DL was taken away from his family and raised by celibate monks. I wonder what that experience was like for a young isolated boy. Very, very odd.

I think it's revolting. Some people on twitter are saying he was just playing with the boy. No. No he wasn't. He fucking wanted that boy to suck his tongue. He made the boy feel awkward and realised and then went for a kiss on the lips Instead.

Possibly some lose inhibition and reveal who they always were.

Others, without doubt, develop behaviour that would shock and horrify their former self. It's very distressing for friends and family.

Those saying it's to do with China trying to ruin him firstly it can'tbe a deep fake as he acknowledgedthe incident and this guy was involved with China also though he worked in their favour.

The highest up in the Catholic Church was McCarrick, Pope John Paul II, Benedict and Francis haven't as far as I know been accused themselves, so it's factually incorrect to say the Popes were the same as the DL, though they seem to have had attitudes like many on this thread.

That article does not reference pedophilia. It alludes to a magnification of your previous sexual tendencies and a shedding of inhibitions surrounding those which sadly suggests that he may have been either suppressing pedophilic sexual urges, acting upon them and/or has merely now dropped his inhibitions. I don't put it within the usual spectrum of sexual perversion and fetishes. It stands apart in it's core nature and motivations.

There is a large body of research describing inappropriate sexual behaviour in people suffering with dementia - this is particularly true when the kind of dementia effects the frontal lobes leading to disinhibited behaviour

The vast majority of this behaviour is seen at home and residential care not on the world stage - and will be dealt with by families and carers as best they can

For a small number of men [usually] suffering with dementia who have a supressed lifelong sexual interest in children loss of frontal control lobe can lead to paedophilic acting out

But early dementia can also lead to significant failures of judgement of a non-sexual nature

No. It’s an excuse. A sickening excuse. If we are to believe he’s suddenly has dementia and an inclination toward children, wouldn’t a public appearance be cancelled, or at least one involving children.
