To expect her to pay for all of it?

My home has two bedrooms.

On Thursday I went on a night out with friends and didn't drink. I went home early.

My friend couldn't get a taxi back from the town and was very drunk, she called me and I got out of bed to pick her up at 3am and brought her back to mine as she lives 8 miles away.

She slept in my son's bed as he wasn't here.

I went in yesterday to change the bedding to see she had been sick all over the mattress, wall, duvet and pillows. All the bedding will need to be replaced.

She says she doesn't remember being sick.

She has offered to pay half for new bedding. Is this reasonable?

This is one of the most ridiculous replies I’ve ever read on MN, and that’s saying something.

Truth 🤣🤣🤣

SnugAsA · 02/06/2023 16:55

Disappointed that we'll likely never know what happened. Any 'friend' who treated me and my home this way would never be invited back. Honestly, what's wrong with people?

Ooh you’ve won another award! I should try being really shitty and hypercritical to OPs who’ve had a horrible experience, and see what I could win.

I’ve already won a set of vomit soaked bedding for deigning to say that I would have gone into the room before the OP. The rest of my reply was ignored

KitKatLove · 09/04/2023 12:58

Misread the OP apologies.

I can’t imagine not going in the room after someone sleeps in it for two days. Her friend should have told her. I don’t think I’d ask for money though.

anonacfr · 02/06/2023 17:57

Yes, there's no way the friend didn't know. She might not have remembered being sick and not had any on her hair, but her clothes would have been soaked and the smell alone would have been a clue.

Hiding it and blaming the dog to someone else was really shitty. I hope the OP updates.

Why thank you for this high accolade 🏆 I’m truly touched.

Have you been trawling MN for the last 50+ days looking for other ridiculous contenders? If so that makes it even more special.

Uh…this thread was trending– hence a number of recent replies– but if that’s your take away, okay. 🙄

nomoremsniceperson · 21/10/2023 13:30

OP, are you not generally great at asserting your boundaries? Because this is a clear case of her absolutely bulldozing yours and you not seeming to notice how glaring the overstep is.

First she drags you out of bed at 3am to pick her up instead of getting a cab or drinking responsibly. then she pukes in your child's bed - of course she knew about it, who can lie there literally ensconced in sick and not smell it? - and hopes you'll just never say anything. Then when she's found it she STILL tries to push the envelope and doesn't want to pay the full amount. She is a CF and a freeloader, she is using you as a taxi service and hotel and then expecting you to foot the bill for her own stupid mistakes. Fall out with her. Get her to pay in full. And then never see her again and get into therapy to learn how to not take shit from cheeky arseholes.

I wish you the very best of luck!

spongebunnyfatpants · 21/10/2023 16:51

She needs to pay for new everything, including the mattress.
Her lack of memory is not your problem. She woke up, got out of it and covered it up knowing it was there. (There's no way that she didn't know).
She's a CF and she's taking advantage of your good nature.

NalafromtheLionKing · 21/10/2023 17:35

Let me get this straight. You answered the phone to CF at 3am (why?), drove 8 miles to get her at that time (???) and let her sleep in DS’ bed WITH A DOG (poor DS). She vomited all over it without telling you and the vomit has now spent days saturating the mattress plus all of the bedding.

NC apart from petty debts court to replace the mattress and all bedding, surely?

ZOMBIE THREAD just in case you had not noticed

Luxell934 · 21/10/2023 17:53

Surely she would have seen the sick on the walls? And surely if it was in the bed she would have had some on her so she would have realised.
