I’m in a Travelodge right now. A little earlier I put my coat on over my pjs and took the dog out for a wee. So shoot me.

Yeah! So if dog needs a wee or you need to pop to car for something in the early hours, or you just need to get some fresh air, are you expected to get showered and dressed first?!!!

matis · 07/04/2023 07:23

See attached.

I personally wouldn't use plaid for anything checked that wasn't wool and I personally wouldn't use plaid except as a noun to describe the long piece of tartan that goes over the shoulder (am Scottish).

I smoke and my top tip is sleep in yoga pants and a vest top. That way if anyone sees you outside at 6.30 they'll assume you're back from an early morning jog.

Whatthediddlyfeck · 07/04/2023 07:24

I’d judge and not favourably, but my judgement is more about being so desperate for a fix that they can’t even take the time to get dressed.

TiedUpWithABlackVelvetBand · 07/04/2023 07:24

Vaping outside a Travel Inn in Harry Potter pyjamas?

Could you be any more Waynetta Slob?

I’d be mortified if DH did this. He’d be mortified if I did. I’d freely judge anyone I saw doing it.

I’m sure you - rightly - don’t care. Although you did ask…. Confused

matis · 07/04/2023 07:24

So I would say tartan, not plaid, to describe a piece of wool fabric that is checked in a tartan pattern.

Plaid used to describe a tartan fabric is more common in America in my experience.

Steakandquinoa · 07/04/2023 07:24

Why would she get dressed at 6am if on holiday?

To go outside. 😳

Not in the same league as going down to a hotel breakfast in your PJ's but a bit naff really.

It's like patients standing outside hospital wards in their PJ's. I try not to judge, after all it's nothing to me.

Confusion101 · 07/04/2023 07:28

I wouldn't leave my hotel room in my Pj's tbh. 🙈

So you wouldn’t judge me for doing exactly the same thing because it was for a different reason? OK …

Where you see lazy I see pragmatism. Presumably the OP was going back to bed after so why change twice?

Think she’s saying it’s ok to walk a dog not to vape.

I just took the dog out of a Travelodge in my pjs and my coat because she needed a wee.

Yesthatismychildsigh · 07/04/2023 07:33

Sorry I’m totally with your partner on this. I absolutely wouldn’t be with a smoker or vaper but I’d be mortified by someone I’m with going through the hotel and outside in their pyjamas for no unavoidable reason. Think I’d be reassessing the relationship.

TomHanksIsFuckingAmazing · 07/04/2023 07:33

Testina · 07/04/2023 06:59

Well I’d judge someone vaping at 06:30 outside a Travelodge in their PJs. Not for wearing the PJs as such, but for being so desperate to vape that it couldn’t wait until they were dressed.

Oh Testina, what's it like to be so fucking perfect? Does that halo never put a dent in your forehead? 🤣

icelollycraving · 07/04/2023 07:33

I see people outside the premier inn near my work, early, in pjs smoking/vaping. I think it’s grim and I’d be embarrassed if my partner did it.

Myneighbourskia · 07/04/2023 07:33

I think it's a bit rough, like hospital patients smoking outside the hospital gate in pyjamas. At least get dressed!

Did you take the dog to a nice bit of grass away from the entrance, or did it make a puddle of piss everyone had to then walk through.

Apply this to vapers.

Somebodiesmother · 07/04/2023 07:35

Mumsnet thinks still being in your pj's three seconds after opening your eyes makes you a common slattern.

C1N1C · 07/04/2023 07:36

There are two types of people, it seems... those that have pjs strictly for the bedroom and those that use them for lounging around the house, going outside to get the milk etc.

I literally get dressed to leave the bedroom, my partner is a lounger.

But I also have an indoor set of clothed (not pjs), and I will not wear those outside. I know, it's exhausting!

I agree with him... but for different reasons. For me it's that 'ocd' hygiene issue, I wouldn't want outdoor environments like communal chairs, benches, dirt etc on pjs that would be worn in my bed.
