I find it depressing there are so many people around UK with this OCD attitude about clean bodies and clean clothes. Where the heck is the world going....

I'm assuming this is funny sarcasm but being Mumsnet can't be quite sure...

I'm not from the UK though.

I live in a naice seaside town in Suffolk. It's quite small but fairly diverse given its location and despite that, there's a really healthy culture of not judging people.
I also travel extensively and know that lots of people are different and do different things. My neighbour smokes weed in his garden. I fucking hate it. But judge him? No.

Oh I love MN posters being holier than thou about never judging people.

Why would you not judge a neighbour smoking weed?

It's illegal. It's the end product of a criminal, blackmarket trade involving money laundering, corruption, tax evasion, worker exploitation, probably child labour and modern day slavery. But hey polish up your non- judgemental halo.

They are Gryffindor, but at least not Slytherin ! He hasn't ever read a book 😩🙈

Your husband has never read a book? 😮Can he read? Is he dyslexic?

Yeah that's spot on to be fair.
I guess I just mean him standing on his back door step puffing away doesn't figure in my mind too much, I've been there over ten years, I just roll my eyes when he does it. But of course there is a much bigger, darker picture.

Oh for fucks sake - yes I'm 14 with two children and an addiction to vaping.

Congratulations on being unble to detect sarcasm. My point still stands - no grown adult, especially one with children - should be writing 'No1'.

GMOOH2023 · 07/04/2023 12:28

Yes it is addictive. The vapes contain nicotine

Have you personally inspected OPs vape then?

The liquid I use in my (non-disposable) vape has 0% nicotine.

Hey OP, I think you totally rock! I am a massive potterhead. I hope you are Hufflepuff like me. But even if you aren't I totally respect you. And you are allowed to vape in your potter pj's. Totally legal in this country still.
Your husband on the other hand meh! I bet he hasn't read potter.

I misread that and thought you said you were a massive pothead.😂

I can hands down say without doubt that not one of my neighbours would stand infront of their house wearing their pyjamas vaping.
I would ask the same question; where the hell do you live that this is normal?

Doing it in the garden is normal but there isn't a garden at Premier Inn, so out the front it is.

OnlyFannys · 07/04/2023 12:36

ThankmelaterOkay · 07/04/2023 08:23

Problem fucking solved.

Everyone will be out front at 6:30am in their PJs. Judge me now assholes.

😂😂😂😂

CheersForThatEh · 07/04/2023 12:39

I think he means "rough". He thinks it makes you look "rough" and that he thinks people will judge you for it.

Nalupa · 07/04/2023 12:39

However I would judge a person who couldn't wait 1 minute to put some joggers and top on to go outside. I aways did this as a smoker, even in our not overlooked back garden.

I drink my coffee outside in the overlooked back garden in my PJs if the weather is ok, in dressing gown... Why would I get dressed? I'm having the coffee before I get ready for the day and going outside helps me wake up. The PJs are comfier than any clothes. Sometimes it's about comfort rather than "not being able to wait".

StepAwayFromTheBiscuitJar · 07/04/2023 12:42

I'd just vape in the bathroom tbh. Dissipates in seconds.

Nalupa · 07/04/2023 12:42

Why the shock that some people don't read books? I have a friend who just doesn't read because she doesn't enjoy it.

DiddyHeck · 07/04/2023 12:45

NatashaDancing · 07/04/2023 12:17

It's banned in hotels. It will set off the smoke alarm (and stink up the room)

Only the ones that give out huge, silly amount of vapour will trigger alarms.

The small, pencil looking ones don't.

Vaping was introduced supposedly to wean people addicted to smoking off cigarettes. As I don't smoke and wasn't I have no need to inspect the OP's or any one else's vape.

Nicotine free vapes are a relatively new thing (although what the point is beyond creating more single use plastic, I've no idea)

However, as the OP was so desperate for her fix that she was up at 6.30 in the morning, outside a hotel and couldn't find the time to put on a coat/ drag on a pair of jeans, she sounds as if she is addicted to whatever chemical she's vaping.

FlissyPaps · 07/04/2023 12:52

Ignore all the uptight idiot snobs on this thread OP. The ones are all “yes I would judge you if I saw you”.

One of the best characteristics is to not give a f*ck what other people think of you. Never be ashamed of who you are.

MrsKHunt · 07/04/2023 12:52

Thanks @NatashaDancing , I just assumed you could as its vapour rather than smoke
Surely if you can boil a kettle in your room you should be safe vaping? Every day's a school day I guess

I don't smoke or vape. Hotels, pubs, restaurants and offices in the UK ban vaping indoors.

psychomath · 07/04/2023 12:54

@pjclown I've got you beat, I stopped off in a cafe this morning wearing last night's clothes mid-walk of shame - luckily I've got no DH to care Grin

Rotherham 💪

We tend to ask the questions of where the hell do you live that it’s normal to be so shocked at people dating to wear pyjamas outside their own property.

Actually "not giving a fuck about what other people think of you" can also mean you (general you) is a narcissistic, anti-social, neighbour from hell, selfish prick.

RampantIvy · 07/04/2023 12:59

None of of my neighbours vape (or smoke), and I have never seen any of them outside in pyjamas Grin

GMOOH2023 · 07/04/2023 13:01

Nicotine free vapes are a relatively new thing (although what the point is beyond creating more single use plastic, I've no idea)

I've been buying nicotine free liquid for the last 4 years so it's not exactly new.

My vape is made of metal and glass so no single use plastic involved. The liquid comes in small, recyclable bottles.

I have no need to inspect the OP's or any one else's vape

And yet you confidently assert that it contained nicotine, and assume that single use plastic is involved?

boopee · 07/04/2023 13:07

Clearly there are people who will judge you for vaping in your pyjamas outside a budget hotel. The question is, do you care what that kind of person thinks? Because you really shouldn't.
