I was waiting for this response 😆 we all have our vices.

Not me!

Pure as the proverbial driven, I am!

Though I have been known to nip out in the early hours in my 'jama's to walk a dog, when we've been away - but an addiction to a fondness for west highland terriers can hardly be called a vice in anyone's book.

Emotionalsupportviper · 07/04/2023 11:43

When we got to the canteen she said: "Oh, it's all right. There are some other people in pyjamas." I said the nurses encouraged it because it made us easier to spot if we tried to escape.

😂

katepilar · 07/04/2023 11:47

I would think weird, not ridiculous. And would be hesitant to talk to you later /if the situation arose/. A bit more hesitant depending on what the Harry Potter pyjamas was like.

But describing yourself as georgous looking in pyjamas and cardigan while vaping outside a hotel at 6.30 am, thats what I find borderline ridiculous.

I am sure you are normal in your everyday life, just like the rest of us though ;)

This was clearly sarcasm lol

Well personally I want to get a good rate on my annuity, so I'm planning on taking up smoking at 50. That way I can afford to go to nice hotels when I'm retired, and stand outside them at 6am, in a silk whistles maxi skirt and a tight black polo neck, chain smoking with a big filter.

MrsKHunt · 07/04/2023 11:51

Don't people just vape in their room?

Meandfour · 07/04/2023 11:54

pjclown · 07/04/2023 07:03

Oh no it was a very much you're an embarrassment type thing - which is quite unusual for him to be that way actually !
And I mean checked, is this the same as plad? Not old and holey, actually Harry Potter ones 🤣

Sorry I’m with your DH; I’d be embarassed if my OH stood outside a premier inn in pjs vaping 🙈

Scalottia · 07/04/2023 11:55

No1? Who writes like this? 14 year olds?

Harry Potter pajamas - are you actually 14?

The replies here did not disappoint I'm delighted to see. I'd say the posters here are lots of fun at parties.

Why would anyone GAF about this? I don't smoke but what's the problem with heading out to an empty street in the wee hours wrapped up in PJs and a cardigan?

There's no way I'd be putting my clean clothes onto my unclean body before showering. It's nothing to do with the time it takes or self respect (lol). I shower, moisturise and put clean clothes on (I also don't like to put makeup on until I've been out in the fresh air already so shoot me) as part of my morning ritual.

Generally, I will never understand the horror of PJs being seen outside the bedroom, I know of some households where the kids are not allowed downstairs without getting dressed first. What a shit life that you can't even chill around your house for a while. In fact myself and my daughter are currently in dressing gowns, slippers the works as we are having a pyjama morning around the house before going out at lunchtime.

As for the suggestions she 'throw some joggers on'? Presumably she is away for a night or two. I don't pack an extra outfit (transition wear?) to wear in between my night and day outfits unless I'm planning to work out I'm pretty sure that hotel chain doesn't have a gym included.

As you've started a thread about this I assume this is out fo character for DH (not like some of the fun vacuums here) so we will give him a free pass, presumably this reminds him of someone or something that he is repelled by. I will never forget the look on now DH's face when we were traveling one time. It was early in the morning, I was exhausted after a flight and I sat down on the edge of the stationary baggage carousel. Panicked horror flashed across his face. Needless to say I do it now every chance I get to annoy him.

I find it depressing there are so many people around UK with this OCD attitude about clean bodies and clean clothes. Where the heck is the world going....

Oh for fucks sake - yes I'm 14 with two children and an addiction to vaping.

As much as I find 'No1' irritating, you've making yourself look very silly on a forum where so many people use DD, DH, DS etc as shorthand 👀

There aren't.

It's just Mumsnet and they're probably sat around right now, feet up in slippers with the backs squashed, pjs covered in brown sauce and ketchup 😂

Have a lovely day. I'd be laughing all day at some of the OTT responses on this thread.

StonwEd · 07/04/2023 12:07

People on here are SO weird.
Who would actually look twice at someone having a vape in the morning?! Like where do you all live that it would be so out of the blue that someone is vaping?! In pyjamas shock horror.
I don't vape but my daughter and my best friend do and it's literally fine. There are so much worse things going on in the world.
And if you judge someone based on this, you're just an asshole.

I can hands down say without doubt that not one of my neighbours would stand infront of their house wearing their pyjamas vaping.
I would ask the same question; where the hell do you live that this is normal?

I've got gold lame evening gloves expressly for that purpose.

I'm pretty sure id climb mount everest in my pyjamas for a vape at 06:30 😂

I'm not giving you my post code and obviously I don't spend 24 hours at the front of my house, but no I've never seen my neighbours outside their house vaping in their pyjamas.

I live in a naice seaside town in Suffolk. It's quite small but fairly diverse given its location and despite that, there's a really healthy culture of not judging people.
I also travel extensively and know that lots of people are different and do different things. My neighbour smokes weed in his garden. I fucking hate it. But judge him? No.

Everydayshouldbe · 07/04/2023 12:16

It's a bit common, isn't it? You wouldn't get anyone other than a smoker doing it.

MeridasMum · 07/04/2023 12:17

Ducksinthebath · 07/04/2023 07:02

What are plad pjs? Typo for old? Definitely YABU if they were old and holey. But otherwise fine.

Think she means plaid - checked

Don't people just vape in their room?

It's banned in hotels. It will set off the smoke alarm (and stink up the room)
