Thomas Cashman's Family

Godzillaisjusthangry · 01/04/2023 08:32

The daily fail have really gone after Thomas Cashman's partner in the paper today, painting her as a gangsters moll.

Do you think she really knew what he was up to? What's the feeling in Liverpool towards her?

AIBU to feel sorry for his kids and wonder what kind of life they will have now? his son and daughter are also victims in this horrible tragedy now. It's so sad.

That might be the only coat she has ffs.

Pigs might whistle but they’ve gey poor mouths for it

Even if the house is rented, she’s still going to lose it a she now won’t be able to afford it. It’s still going to be a massive blow for her. She won’t have the fancy lifestyle as she had before.

Course she won’t. But that wasn’t the point of my reply. They can’t take a house from her she doesn’t own.

Unfortunately for children in families such as this, it is normalised.

I was leading a small group of 10 year olds, in a primary school, through a feedback session about their ambitions for the future.

One 10 year old’s response ‘I want to be a drug dealer, like my dad’.

When asked ‘why’ - the response was ‘because he earns lots of money and drives a big, new, fast Mercedes.... it cost more than £100,000’

Another child piped up excitedly with ‘yeh, it is the best car in ( large estate name)’

Ingrained! Normalised.

The victims mother chose pink for her daughter's funeral.
Seeing that waste of space dressed in pink must have been like a smack in the face.
Like that poor little girls murderer, she's a bastard of the first water!
She knew exactly what he was up to. Don't make the mistake of thinking he's left her penniless, she could have bought ten coats in any colour but pink.

But its just a muted pink coat. I think you're thinking too much of her if you think any thought went into it. Even if she did think as you outlined then it's still not important enough to justify the reporting in my opinion. It's a coat. If she knew and assisted her boyfriend then that's far more important and worthy of reporting imo. If you do think the coat was chosen specifically then that attention might be what she wanted. So best to just ignore. I'm not sure I'm explaining it well but any potential crimes are far more important than her choice of coat.

Fair enough! I just find the reporting on her coat odd.

I can't get my head around how more than one woman was interested in him. The woman he was having (or had had) a fling with went to the police shortly after he turned up at her house to get changed straight after he'd shot Olivia. I wonder if Kayleanne knew about her?

That’s pretty naive. Cashman is obviously good looking, he’s loaded, therefore he could provide his partner & her children with an enviable lifestyle, he was respected / feared by people, from which he derived social status in his community. For a working class young woman with no qualifications & few options, being with him might seem a better option than working in Greggs.

dayswithaY · 01/04/2023 10:03

Let’s not make his partner a victim in all this. How do you think he got paid? In cash, dirty money. He had to hide it/launder it somewhere.

If your partner was paying for everything in cash wouldn’t you ask questions? And all that wealth and they lived in a rented house.

I had a friend whose husband went to jail for financial crimes. They had an amazing lifestyle before that, she never asked questions but she absolutely knew.

If a man has cash to flash, a certain type of woman will be willing to sleep with him and even bear his children. In this case, fortunately, at least one of the women achieved a degree of redemption by giving evidence against him.

Try telling the victims mother it's just a coat.
It's a coat in the colour that she knew full well had been chosen for the victim.
You couldn't not know because the funeral was huge in Liverpool, everyone knew pink was the colour chosen.
It's a bloody insult to the victims family.
If you want to defend a piece of shit though then you crack on.

Mumsafan · 01/04/2023 10:05

Everyone knows everybody and everything in Liverpool and if anyone seriously believes women like her in Liverpool have only one coat then you need a reality check!!

Liverpool is a beautiful place full of caring lovely friendly people who look after each other but like any city it has a bad element like Cashman.

His missus 100% knew what he was and what he did.

Time to stop giving him and his like the time of day.

funinthesun19 · 01/04/2023 10:05

Yes let's make his kids homeless, little bs obviously deserve it. Good god listen to yourself 🤔

Nobody is saying that. But his kids aren’t owed the lifestyle they have become accustomed to from their dad’s drug money. They won’t be homeless, but they will have to live on much less money now.

xPaz · 01/04/2023 10:06

I don't know anything about her, just clicked on this thread (Not in the UK) but do you think you can just tell a man who has form for solving his problems with a bullet that you're leaving him? She may have had no intention or desire to leave him, but you cannot tell an angry murderous man that you're judging him and he doesn't measure up so you're leaving.

Godzillaisjusthangry · 01/04/2023 10:08

BlackBarbies · 01/04/2023 09:49

What I don’t understand is, why were the family surprised that he was found guilty? I read an article which said Cashman’s sister said that he had been set up etc. I don’t understand how they’re pleading his innocence when Olivia’s mum literally saw the events unfold in front of her.

Are they trying to say it wasn’t him who killed her? He’d been set up to chase the Nee guy? It all doesn’t make much sense but I have no clue why they were all so surprised

Because facing up to he fact that their relative is a scum bag child killer is just too much to face. So they deny the truth to protect themselves, their connections and their ego.

Plus I'm guessing the name Cashman is so infamous now, they'll have to carry that shameful association for a very long time.

OhhhhhhhhBiscuits · 01/04/2023 10:08

She has moved back to her old family council house according to some reports. Personally I would flee and try and live incognito somewhere miles away as there will be people after her. The kids I feel very sorry for, no one asks to be born and to be born into a family like this with no choice of the violence, drugs and crimes going on around you is heartbreaking.

bellac11 · 01/04/2023 10:08

The peculiarity in situations like this is that for all the sympathy and protection that we want his children to have, they may either be already or they will be turning out just like him in the future. Its very likely to happen like that

At which point do they also become people we dont sympathise with?

Xrays · 01/04/2023 10:09

Of course their kids shouldn’t be homeless. 🙄 The point is - if - their house was owned through the proceeds of crime then they shouldn’t be allowed to benefit from that. The house shouldn’t be passed on through the generations as inheritance because it was gained through illegal means. As it happens it turns out the house was rented. So that’s neither here nor there but the point is people shouldn’t be benefiting from crime, not them, not their families. The children will now have to live in a home suited to their legal circumstances, which is what they should be doing and what is fair.

Yes I don't see what's wrong with that.

Considering he has exs, yes

Godzillaisjusthangry · 01/04/2023 08:45

So do you think the police will go after her? Will the kids end up in care?

Have you considered that the children going into care might actually be better for them than continuing to be brought up by people either actively involved or otherwise complicit in violent organised crime?

Honestly, I'm struggling to get my head round why you have so much concern for his family. There are plenty of innocent victims more deserving of your compassion. Are you by any chance married to a gangster yourself and worried about your own future?

When they become adults and have to take responsibility for their own choices.

Plenty of people come from terrible, abusive backgrounds (like me) and do not make those choices.

Its all part of the picture of her mentality though isnt it. Its symbolic and therefore a 'bigger thing'

The utter utter disrespect and disregard for whats actually happened, by someone she lived with, and had children with. She couldnt give a toss. Thats what she is saying loud and clear

So its a very big thing. Its not 'just' a coat.

The accused and hos crew taunting victim's families is always reported. Smirks, this that.
It's good they report this. Might make aome dimwits think twice before standing by her

CherryCokeFanatic · 01/04/2023 10:12

She did not commit the crime. Leave her alone.

Hintofreality · 01/04/2023 10:13

No one is so thick they are running around saying “Aaaaaahhh dead proud of our Tommy you know, he made 14 grand last week delivering pizzas. His boss was proper made up with him and got him a Range Rover for being delivery man of the day”
