Am I being too uptight?

I’m planning a night for a couple of friends at mine, food and drink etc. it’ll kind of be an all day thing.

Friend has said she has to bring her dog. I really don’t want her too, my house is very white and it’s a puppy (maybe just under 1) and so I’m worried it’ll get overexcite. Also I hate the thought of it shitting in my garden and her bagging it up to leave in my dustbin.

I know I probably sound awful and uptight and please don’t think I’m screaming at people to use coasters or to not have liquids near the white sofa.

Nope, not clear at all. I am a lifelong dog owner/lover and I absolutely agree how some people are fucking nutters over their dogs. They expect everyone to love their dog as much as they do, they feel entitled to take their dog anywhere and everywhere they go, and are outraged when someone pushes back and tells them their dog isn't welcome.

Well said.

The way some owners push back against criticism of dog owner behaviour with ‘aaw stop hating dogs’ is hilarious! It’s not the dog, it’s you.

The invite was for them, if people say that have to bring their dog, partner or child then it changes the dynamic. Just say they can’t bring the dog then they can decide if they still want to attend.

I can’t see how dog poop in your garden that is bagged up and put in the bin outside is a problem? There will be poop in your garden from birds, worms, insects, hedgehogs if you’re blessed with them and rats because they are part of the fauna and ecosystem. Your friend is probably worried about leaving her DDoggie at home and it sounds like she really loves him/her which says a lot about your friend.

It really annoys me when people just think they can bring their dog over! And I have a dog of my own. My brother turns up with his great big dog, who my dog hates, and then my smaller dog gets very stressed out and barks and snaps. Once, my brother's dog got my dog round the neck! And he just laughed! I think it is really rude. I would never turn up to someone's house with my dog, or say I had to bring my dog!

I don’t like dogs but these threads are great as they remind me how many considerate and respectful dog-owners there are out there. It’s easy to forget that when irresponsible owners let their dogs run riot in public etc.

Poo from worms and insects? What an absolutely ridiculous comparison.

YADNBU
She should respect your wishes
I have a ddog and I never assume he's welcome anywhere
I would just leave early if i had to get back to him

there are more insects on this planet than anything else and they all have to poop. It may be small but it all adds up loads of poop 🤷🏼‍♀️. Poop is 💩 poop no matter who excreted it.

Dog shit absolutely stinks and is a risk for toxoplasmosis which isn't the case for baby poo.

The primary hosts for T. gondii are cats. Dogs can be carriers but do not excrete T. gondii in poop. So no, a dog poop contained within a fastened poop bag is no different to a dirty nappy in a nappy bag in the bin.

You can use as many emojis as you like, it won’t make what you’re saying sound any less batshit. Or batpoop.

Time for me to take a step back and have a good chuckle that I very nearly entered into an argument with a stranger on the internet about the difference between dog and worm excreta. Nearly, but not quite. Nice one!

Why does every other post have the word “batshit” in it somewhere? Even when the post is nothing about shit? But this one was, so well done in getting the context correct. 😂😂😂💩😂💩

Pup will be fine.he can't be left alone all day so if he can't come your friend might not.personally I'd rather have a load of dogs around for the day but that's just me!😀🐕🐕.
And my house is thoroughly cleaned every single day.
