If you work in education has any child gone on to be famous or notorious?

Having a chat with a colleague today and she said that a child we taught she thought would be a famous footballer when older.

I just wondered if anyone, who works in education, has taught a child who went on to become famous or notorious?

OP posts:

Many sports men and women - including Olympians

One inventor of a household object

One politician ( labour)

One scientist very well known in their own field

Several Jeremy Kyle guests

Many criminals, some of who's names you might recognise

You're a Teacher and you wrote 'who's' in that sentence? 🤷‍♀️

On behalf of any teachers and their spelling and grammar. I’m a teacher - I didn’t do an English degree - does being a teacher mean you have to have perfect SPaG then? Bugger - someone better tell my work, as my grammar is appalling and so is my spelling. My dyslexia is openly known - I have a phD though in my field and a first class degree - is that ok to teach your child?? It’s comments like these which are bullying teachers out of their profession with the total lack of appreciation of what we do and jumping on any little error or anything we do which is short of perfect - it’s surprising we have any teachers left. It really pisses be off. I bet you are the sort of poster who is pissed off your child is late back from a school trip with zero appreciation for the teachers that are also non paid for said event and late back to their own families.

@Clementineorsatsuma maybe you are a lemon instead?

So @Nimbostratus100 - just based on your posts over the last couple of days - you're a geneticist with expertise in sex and gender, a school teacher who doesn't know primary school grammar, and a 60-something asexual who is so frequently hit on by men in bars that you need to wear special jewellery to put them off.

Seems legit 😒

another one that appears to want my full cv! What is it with you? I dont understand what you dont understnd?

Do you think asexuals cant be 60 years old|?

Do you think geneticists can be maths teachers?

do you think teachers cant be dyslexic?

or do you just think people cant have long, interesting and varied lives?

A child who murdered 3 other children at 13.

I can't believe I don't remember this,

It's more common than you think as is children raping other children. Not reported and when they turn 16 it's not on record.

At senior school my best friends Mum was a teacher. She taught Science to this lady.

I went to the same school but different years. I wonder if she taught me too!

NewCarOldCar · 08/04/2023 05:38

@Bamboux have you actually just spent time googling another poster's posting history??

Lordy me how weird and sad

😂😂😂

Teachers don't always have perfect grammar. In fact, most of the teachers I know have pretty poor English skills.

I taught the future Poly Styrene in my science class

No. That poster has been all over the site in the past couple of days starting threads. It's not been remotely difficult to notice them.
