If you work in education has any child gone on to be famous or notorious?

Having a chat with a colleague today and she said that a child we taught she thought would be a famous footballer when older.

I just wondered if anyone, who works in education, has taught a child who went on to become famous or notorious?

Not a school teacher but my Dad was the manager of someone who went on to be an Olympian and world record holder. About 25 years later they went to an event where he was speaking and he recognised Dad and met up with him after and bought him a drink and had a lovely catch up

My nan went to school with him.

My grandma taught Jenna Coleman. Said she was lovely :)

Mayflower18 · 27/03/2023 20:22

I’ve taught an England footballer. He wasn’t the smartest but was an absolutely lovely boy, who always tried his best. That’s the most I could expect from any child.

Dumbo18 · 27/03/2023 20:22

Why a people not naming names? A famous footballer and a famous tv presenter…surely you can just say who they are 😂

I know.

I'm so nosy I wanna know who the footballers are.

Fladdermus · 27/03/2023 20:26

I taught a young girl who will one day be queen. I say 'taught' but what I really mean is 'did 2 weeks work experience in her school after completing my GCSEs'.

Confusedmamadotcom · 27/03/2023 20:28

I know a secondary teacher who taught Harry Styles. She said he was very nice.

TorviShieldMaiden · 27/03/2023 20:28

I taught an Olympian. I’m not naming as it would out my username.

ScarletWitchM · 27/03/2023 20:29

I didn't name a name as there can't be that many future queens to choose from.

Kelljo83 · 27/03/2023 21:01

I grew up with people that are now famous. Jade from Damage (married to Emma bunton) Footballer byo Akinfenwa (lovely boy) Eastenders characters back in the day used to chill with my neighbour (and get their drugs) Ian wright's son also hung around with us.
I worked in a nursery in Stoke Newington London that had lots of famous kids.

I work in the school a little mix girl went to

NorthernDrizzle · 27/03/2023 21:03

A boy I taught in reception murdered someone when he was 16

Newuser82 · 27/03/2023 19:53

You may not want to say but was it Joanna dennehy? Her name sprang to mind. I watched a documentary about her a while ago and it was chilling

I was thinking of Lucy Letby; but sadly there are several possibilities.

Anskl · 27/03/2023 21:07

My Dad taught Gavin from Gavin & Stacey and several England cricketers

Biscuitsneeded · 27/03/2023 21:08

My mum taught Sophie who became Sophie Wessex. No dirt, she was apparently very nice and everyone liked her.

Whyarewehardofthinking · 27/03/2023 21:08

A musician who has played some of the big festivals, a few footballers (male and female) and 2 murderers; one who was on national media. He was a horrible specimen. The other was just a twat.

Not naming as it identifies me!

BertaHoon · 27/03/2023 21:12

I taught and birthed the future saviour of Britain.

She could count to 3 at one year old and say what a cow is, in French.

You saw it here first.

Actually one lad I did work with, who supposedly had everything (but love) and could be vicious and nasty has gone on to several charity events for domestic abuse. We used to call his Mum Cruella - poor boy. It fills my heart that he is doing well nearly 30 years later.
