Do you consider 5ft1/155cm height fur a woman very short or not in the realms of average height ?

I was always told as a child I'd be tall as an adult - by everyone around me - but my actual adult height is 5ft1/155cm. I'm female.

Clothes are always too long on arms and legs, but I find travelling really easy because the leg room I have is amazing.

According to UK statistics the average woman is 5ft 4 inches tall.

That would make 5ft 1 short although I am not sure why it matters?

(And to the women who “don’t consider themselves tall at 5ft 7 - you may not think you are but that is 3 inches above the UK average. I am 5ft 8 and I don’t “feel” tall but acknowledge that I am.)

@JHound that's correct 5'4" seems to be average for UK females, it matters because some women feel insecure about their height and they shouldn't but everyone has preferences

Average including elderly women is 5 ft 4. Average in women under 30 is much taller (I read it’s close to 5 ft 7). 5 ft 1 is short

Depends on age. 5ft 7 is average when you exclude women over 30.

I have never wanted to be taller

rarely wear heels now but used to always wear heels then went into work in flats (pregnant at the time) and had a number of comment of i didn’t realise how tiny you are

I’ve also used it to my advantage people have been more protective over me and that suits me fine 😊

I'm 5ft 2ins and always considered myself short.
But as the years have gone by I feel I've got relatively smaller because of the increasing height of the younger generations.
I feel my height is more of a problem to me now - there are more difficulties because if it. Particularly when buying clothes.

@Neverstophoping i get you in everyway possible, cherish your height tbh it is crazy nowadays how tall younger generations are i mean I'm 25 years old and 6'8" both my mum and dad are tall though.

Where did you read it is 5ft 7 in women under 30? That sounds very untrue. I definitely am not meeting women my height on a regular basis.

I've shrunk to less than that, loosing more than 2 inches due to broken back in 4 places, and I dislike it.

Short but not unusually so. I am 6ft 2 so certainly tall. The surprising thing is I used to be second glance tall but I often see young women as tall if not taller than me now.
