To think Gwyneth Paltrow doesn’t have a ‘wellness routine’

She has an eating disorder?

she’s given an interview saying her ‘wellness’ typical day consists of an early Palo dinner of vegetables then a fast til noon the next day ( with coffee only in the morning) when she has bone broth. Repeat.
she then takes IV drips for the nutrients that she’s essentially NOT getting from food, as she’s barely eating.

HOW is this wellness - it’s a starvation routine. How is this in a wellness podcast?

that does not sound good.

roundtable · 15/03/2023 09:34

Making me hungry just reading that!

It's certainly very dedicated but definitely not for me. Imagine never eating a chip again. Or crisps? What is the point of life I would ask?

SkyandSurf · 15/03/2023 09:38

really irresponsible of media outlets to publish that and call it wellness

Agree. That's seriously disturbing

If that's true then I totally agree it should not be called wellness.

Basketballqueen · 15/03/2023 09:41

It’s not that she’s not eating crisps etc it’s that she’s not eating at all really. Bone broth? That’s flavoured water? Just veg?
then exercising, IVs, saunas.

I’m not usually one for judging other women/ men and their eating habits but this is being publicised as wellness when it’s anything but.

if she was poor we’d say she was anorexic and needed support from the NHS, but she’s rich so it’s framed as aspirational.

She has an eating disorder and requires medicalisation to stay alive.

Lottapianos · 15/03/2023 09:43

'she then takes IV drips for the nutrients that she’s essentially NOT getting from food, as she’s barely eating.'

That sounds really sad and strange, and about a million miles away from being 'well' in any sense

HarlanPepper · 15/03/2023 09:43

You're right, she doesn't have a wellness routine. She has a rich person routine, which is by definition dysfunctional and bears little relevance or usefulness to the experience of 99.9999% of women in the world.

Fraaahnces · 15/03/2023 09:44

It’s all flavored and supplemented with money which is why she needs to steam clean the glitter out of her vajayjay and plug it up with Crystal quartz.

springrises · 15/03/2023 09:45

do you have a link to the interview?

I’ll judge. She’s always been a ridiculous woman.

bellac11 · 15/03/2023 09:46

I dont think theres anything particularly unusual about this in show biz circles, my mum and her family used to talk about my aunts who in the 30s were on the stage, dancers on a chorus line and they were encouraged to just eat apples and drink cabbage water (cabbage water is really nice by the way, my mum used to get that down me as a child, very nutritious)

And these were just poor girls who grew up in London, I dread to think what it was like if you were properly famous in those days.

this contains a link to the video in case anyone thinks it’s an exaggeration.

imagine a man saying this and it being promoted as ‘wellness’.

I have a DD ( And a DS) and worry that this kind of nonsense just puts more and more pressure on girls & women to achieve this kind of unsustainable routine as a goal, to be thin and ‘well’

Let's face it after the candle that smelt of vagina would you believe or follow anything she says?? It's all utter rubbish that people with more money than sense follow to look trendy and cool.

I was been in tongue in cheek. We'll sort of as I don't think unless you are trying to sort out a weight issue, you need to ban most things. Just eat mindfully and for balance.

However, celebrities and their restrictive eating (eating disorders) doesn't ever seem to end for women. It is toxic. Thinness at all cost over than health. Even the new strong trend is based on as little percent of body fat as possible. I weight lift and listening to some of the men and women talk about how they restrict themselves is alarming.

The only bonus is that it is marginally better than heroin chic and Paris Hilton back in the day only eating a happy meal a day I suppose at a push.

springrises · 15/03/2023 10:04

MN can be toxic about women's bodies too. I've lost count of the number of threads where someone will come on and say they're 7 stones, a size 6, but definitely "chubby" and lots of replies saying "oh yes, you can definitely be a chubby size 6. I weigh 6 stones and am a chubster too"

hyperspacebug · 15/03/2023 10:08

If I am honest, I would like to look like her but sad if that is what it takes. Seems like sad starvation than dedication to healthy food choices.

StClare101 · 15/03/2023 10:08

She’s completely bonkers. God knows why anyone listens to her.

Andanotherone01 · 15/03/2023 10:09

She is fucking batshit. And what the hell is 'bone broth'? sounds absolutely disgusting

Sparklesocks · 15/03/2023 10:10

Sounds a bit like orthorexia

springrises · 15/03/2023 10:15

bone broth? wasn't she a vegan at one point?

piqueen · 15/03/2023 10:15

I would have sucked this up as a teen, I used to watch supersize vs superskinny for tips on how to be skinny. When the school did a day on anorexia and bulimia, and they mentioned the worries of Pro Anarexiq websites I was thrilled.

This kind of stuff is so damaging. I was convinced I was a fat girl on my first holiday, age 12. I was so skinny I looked ill.

She could be causing deaths, not many people can choose to have nutrients and vitamins via drip. she sounds like a drip. isn't she anti vax too?

Alltheproductsnoidea · 15/03/2023 10:19

She's aspirational!
