Would you feel uncomfortable if your cleaner wore these?

My cleaner often wears quite revealing leggings, I wouldn't care except my husband often works from home and she also cleans his office which requires bending etc. She's also very attractive. It makes me feel uncomfortable and inferior but I don't feel like I can say anything to her. I personally don't feel this is professional for anyone to be wearing to work, except perhaps if you work in a gym or similar. What do others think? Would you be ok with it?

You’re going to drive yourself crazy thinking like that. You have to realise some of the most attractive, clever, funny, richest, whatever people in the world have been cheated on while there are countless people who aren’t conventionally attractive, rich etc who have loyal spouses and stay happily married for 70 years!

If you aren’t happy with your weight then obviously do something about it but whether you weigh 8 stone or 28 stone, it won’t make a difference to whether you’re cheated on or not.

This.

I wouldn't like that view in my house, could she come when neither of you are at home? Change the cleaner under some other pretext if you are really bothered? But no, you can't really tell her what to wear, it would be super strange! Maybe she will get tired of those leggings with time and switch to something else?

It's almost been 2 years!

Isn't it interesting that inappropriate clothing is only ever worn by women? A lot of you need to check your internalised misogyny.

Annasass · 10/03/2023 07:37

Just call her Arseface

ReformedWaywardTeen · 10/03/2023 07:38

Personally I hate those leggings with the scrunch at that bottom. It's just slutty.
Tell her she is welcome to wear trousers that don't have that and if she refuses get rid.

Fascinating. Which other clothes are 'slutty' and what should the consequences of wearing them be for those women who do?

Well I assume he's not a perve, but he has eyes. Even I can't help notice her butt. I'm surprised that so many people aren't bothered by this so obviously I'm in the minority. She's an extremely attractive young Brazilian woman, and well I'm quite far from that at the moment. Clearly IABU. Thanks for the feedback! I doubt I'll feel less secure, but maybe knowing that most of you wouldn't care will give me some perspective.

So you want to control the clothing choices of another woman because you think she’s more attractive than you? Really @Phoebo ?

do you genuinely think that’s ok?

as a cleaner she’s self employed, she’s not working in an office. She gets to wear what she likes and if you disapprove you don’t have to continue to use her services.

but you don’t have the right to police the clothing of another adult woman in an effort to mitigate your own insecurity

You can’t tell your cleaner what to wear for work. I can’t believe people like this exist.

Cosyblankets · 10/03/2023 07:40

Leggings are comfy. I wear them myself but there's no getting away from the fact that these scream look at my arse! They are a trend though so hopefully that trend will die out.
OP there's no doubt your husband will have noticed because you did but it's you he married. It's you he's had a child with and any squishy bits you've got that you're self conscious of you can bet your life he probably likes because they're a part of the fact that you made a child together

Milkand2sugarsplease · 10/03/2023 07:40

Your cleaner can wear what she likes to work. The responsibility is on your husband not to perv on her.
And you're not doing anything to help our cause by perpetuating the insinuation that it's a women's responsibility to not entice a man by choosing "appropriate" clothing.

Phoebo · 10/03/2023 07:40

I wouldn't be bothered if it was on the street. Maybe I feel more "vunerable" because it's in my home 🤷‍♀️

Oh honey, no. There are lots of clothes men wear these days that are also inappropriate thanks to the fabric of society collapsing.

'Slutty' is a disgustingly misogynistic remark.

shockthemonkey · 10/03/2023 07:40

No! What is the reason for the gathering in the bum crack? Those leggings are not good at all.

I mean, both from a fashion POV and from a respect POV.

I know I'll get slated on here but I don't care. Those leggings are not on, OP.
I'm firmly with you!

Vulnerable in what way?

Oh you can. If she wouldn’t wear appropriate clothing she wouldn’t have a job anymore.

taybert · 10/03/2023 07:42

I’d be worried if my cleaner was wearing those leggings. Because I’d think she’d had some sort of episode, requiring assistance.

SaySomethingMan · 10/03/2023 07:43

Those leggings look horrible! yuk. It looks like the wearer needs to pull it out of her crack.

Theyre usually a desperate attempt by people with flats bums to get some sort of shape to them. Just own your flat behind. It’s what you have.

As you say though, it’s workout gear. Cleaning is a kind of work out. She can wear what she likes.

Your husband chose to marry you. If you’re that uncomfortable, why not just let her go? Why are you paying for your own discomfort?

To the pp who asked why the cleaner cleans around OP’s husband, he could be on a teams call when he goes in. Or he could be enjoying the view 😝

Schmutter · 10/03/2023 07:43

I hate those leggings that enhance the bum crack. But if the cleaner was wearing them, it really wouldn’t matter.

Dh and I would probably have a private giggle about it.

I don’t suppose she’d be particularly bothered. Good cleaners are like unicorn shit, she’d soon find a more reasonable employer.

Pinkhorse1 · 10/03/2023 07:44

I personally feel its inappropriate. There are many other comfortable clothes she could wear.

For those who are asking if the OP doesn't trust her husband, it's a bit like putting a piece of chocolate cake in front of someone and asking them not to eat it. Why not dress decently in first place, if you have some self respect!!

Justleaveitblankthen · 10/03/2023 07:45

QuacketyQuack · 10/03/2023 07:03

I agree with you OP. I really don't think it's necessary to have the seam riding up the bum like that. Tbh that's the first time I've seen these type of leggings.

On my high street, on any day in any weather, this is what all younger women wear. Independent of body type.
Some of the leggings are so pale, they look like the wearer is naked until you get close 😬

Pinkhorse1 · 10/03/2023 07:46

Sorry, but it says alot about her!

This attitude is disgusting. You are blaming women for the actions of men, and comparing a woman to a piece of cake.

Sort yourself out.
