Would you feel uncomfortable if your cleaner wore these?

My cleaner often wears quite revealing leggings, I wouldn't care except my husband often works from home and she also cleans his office which requires bending etc. She's also very attractive. It makes me feel uncomfortable and inferior but I don't feel like I can say anything to her. I personally don't feel this is professional for anyone to be wearing to work, except perhaps if you work in a gym or similar. What do others think? Would you be ok with it?

She could have worn a top that covered her arse, wouldn’t have made them any less practical. In fact I think that anyone who wears these things outside of a gym without an arse covering top must be a bit of an exhibitionist.

While I think people should be able to wear what they like, that doesn't seem appropriate for a cleaner. Never mind my husband, I don't think I'd want someone's arse in my face in my own house.

What would be happening while she was cleaning that would mean her arse was in your face? Surely you would just leave her to get on with it and get on with your own plans, not follow her around in some weird stooped over position?

Vitriolinsanity · 12/03/2023 14:26

Those really are awful leggings, even the model looks like she's sporting a giant arsehole.

I may have missed the point.

Is it? But who decides what is inappropriate and who should wear what and when?

Who decides? Nobody does. But you already know that. My post was a comment on social conditioning I suppose. Do you disagree with it?

Shoxfordian · 12/03/2023 16:19

Yabu and you need to get over your own insecurities

SchoolQuestionnaire · 12/03/2023 16:39

If it makes you feel any better, I’ve been desperately trying to get a cleaner for over a year. I’ve just managed to snag one but she can’t start until the end of April. My house is an utter shitshow and after yet another Sunday spent chasing my own star trying to keep on top of things, quite frankly if she said she wanted to clean wearing nothing but nipple tassles I would still be chuffed to bits that she was sorting my house out!!!

If your dh is anything like mine he will likely be looking anywhere but her backside as he wouldn’t want to make her feel like he was perving on her. He also wouldn’t be under any illusions that the attractive young woman gave a shiny shit what he thinks about her attire.

Look, I get it op. You’re not feeling your best and the fact that this woman is attractive and looks great in these leggings is making you feel insecure. It happens to the best of us. But she can wear what she wants and the leggings aren’t inappropriate.

JudgeRudy · 12/03/2023 17:05

OK, I'm not saying it OK to wear anything, but a pair of leggings is fine. If she was wearing a tiny crop top I might take to turning the heating off 😆
Seriously, don't penalise her for being attractive. If she had cellulite and puffy ankles plus a big jelly belly would you feel differently?
It's not abnormal to feel a slight tinge of envy, but it's unreasonable to try to police what she wears to make her less attractive. Even in thick tracking bottoms she's likely still more attractive than you, as are 1000s of women your husband comes into contact with.
Let it go

AngeloMysterioso · 12/03/2023 17:06

I can’t fucking stand those leggings, the wearer might as well have “look at my arse!!” written on their backs with a downwards pointing arrow.

AngeloMysterioso · 12/03/2023 17:12

Agreed. I would assume anyone wearing these actively wants people to look at her bum.

It’s more ‘look inside my butt cheeks at my massive simulated puckered arsehole’ to me!

I don’t think think I do or rather I’m not sure you have articulated it very well. The statement ‘Women are pushed to reveal more and more?’ It’s a little bemusing. Who is pushing them? I think a lot of women would argue they get to choose what they wear and no one is pushing them in to anything. Maybe women are just wearing what they want because they enjoy it and let’s just let them get on with it. Unless it’s hurting someone then I don’t see a problem.

Izzae · 12/03/2023 20:29

" Look at me"- Horrible looking leggings, probably smell effing awful up her arse crack. They're showing their arse off, not appropriate out the gym.

Crikeyalmighty · 12/03/2023 20:29

@Phoebo we are all human and unless I had an arse like that- yep I probably would feel a bit bitchy about it-

So why do you think so many women enjoy presenting themselves in a hyper-sexual way and men don't? Bit strange that if it's all down to individual choice?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 12/03/2023 20:40

Since the dawn of time women have been measured by what they can give a man.

Something to look at
Something to birth his heirs
Something to fuck
Something to keep his home comfortable

That's why so many women feel like they need to capitalise on their looks. Because they've been fed the notion that that is their worth. By a society which, frankly, is made by men, for the benefit of men.

MissMissive · 10/03/2023 07:02

I always think these look like a big puckered arsehole, they make me cringe.

Same.. horrid. They look so uncomfortable. I've spent my entire life trying to find knickers that don't get eaten by my bum cheeks. Why would anyone want this discomfort on purpose?

So glad I'm old and untrendy.

OP these leggings are EVERYWHERE. If your DH doesn't see them on your cleaner he will definitely see them elsewhere. You can't put blinkers on him.

I very much doubt your cleaner is wearing them to be provocative, they're probably just something she throws on to come cleaning in. I reckon she'd be mortified if she knew you were viewing her this way.

Leave her to it, she's there to do a job that you'v employed her to do . Work on your self confidence.

SnowdayYay · 12/03/2023 21:35

@CupOfCake

I don't think that's the cleaners butt 😂.

Going against the grain but it's not something I woud be comfortable with.

SnowdayYay · 12/03/2023 21:36

I've not seen leggings with an actual arse in them like these!

Well, take Elizabeth Harley’s “that dress”. It would barely raise an eyebrow these days. Red carpet looks baring nipples and g-strings are common nowadays. The most daring thing men do on the red carpet is wear a ballgown.

Of course women decide what they wear. But they don’t make the decision in a vacuum. It’s a bit like the trend for Botox and fillers and cosmetic procedures on young women, attractive women, women in their 2Os. Who is pushing them? Well, obviously you can’t point a finger and say “they are!” But clearly there are societal pressures at play. Again, I’ll be told, so what. Let them get on with it, it’s not hurting you. And that’s true. But I’ll always comment. Much to the annoyance of my daughters. Because I think it’s a bit more complicated than ‘I’ll wear what I want.’

Pootlepootle25 · 13/03/2023 15:47

Wouldn’t be bothered. Might be a bit jealous of her having a nicer bum than me but that would be it. Don’t mind if husband notices but he’s respectful enough not to perve or make any advances!
