No agenda I’m just interested as Kier is on LBC this morning…

For me it’s the TWAW magical thinking, and not being convinced they would prioritise average earners, which I want to happen.

OP posts:
twitterexile · 07/03/2023 07:33

I haven't once mentioned my opinion on the TWAW issue. But thank you for incorrectly putting words into my mouth

Where did I say that you had?

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 07/03/2023 07:29

Angela Rayner.

I like her, tough woman... shows that a bad start in life/poor decisions can be overcome with hard work.

Was hilarious the legs thing and Johnson being distracted.... "Poor weak man bought down by female flesh"

Bojo obviously knows what he'd like to do to a woman... idiotic man.

Icandothattoo · 07/03/2023 07:34

@twitterexile but surely you know that OJ is journo who also happens to espouse left wing politics. He represents himself end of. Similar with the other gobshite strident Corbynistas who inhabit Twitter. Just like Katy Hopkins is a right wing rabble rouser. Do people like her put you off voting for the current incarnation of the tory party which she pretty much resembles. I hope so.

FourTeaFallOut · 07/03/2023 07:36

I want to vote for a left of centre party that isn't riddled with misogyny. How hard is that? In the meantime, I'll vote for any party that is retreating from the silent creep of the women-hating, gender-cult theocracy.

Icandothattoo · 07/03/2023 07:38

Well which one would that be ? Not the conservatives or labour, lib dems, greens ?

BigMandysBookClub · 07/03/2023 07:39

Lack of policy to deal with housing crisis. It solves so many issues if just one party would wake u, have some balls and fucking deal with this properly.

I haven't seen much on how they will deal with inequality and how middle earners like me will benefit. We always get the shit end of the stick.

I'm not sure of getting rid of grammar schools is a policy for them now, but I would want to keep them. My son is good at some subjects but isn't helped to progress with this. We can't afford private education.

Definitely not a Tory voter! Not sure who i will vote for.

Yeah, at the moment, I would vote for the Tories. I'm not seeing gender critical voice in that party be treated as heretics. That's as good as it gets at the moment. But if anyone else makes progress then I'll jump ship in a heartbeat.

TWAW

Refusal to protect women's rights and safeguard children

The anti semitic behaviour (doesn't effect me but it still shows who they are imho)

Basically they do nothing for me or my children so the question should be why SHOULD I vote for them? They arnt opposition they are covert promotors of the Conservative party I swear they are PAID to make them look good

🤣 if Labour are paid to make them look good they literally need to walk around brandishing a chainsaw to make them look good. They need to pay them more!

Itwastheworstoftimes · 07/03/2023 08:12

This thread is totally depressing. I’m not sure I can cope with another five years of Tory government, and the resultant destruction of the NHS, education and public services.

Noicant · 07/03/2023 08:13

Sex based rights, couldn’t vote for Labour on that basis. Once they are given away and it’s in legislation it will be impossible to claw them back. It puts women and children at heightened risk for generations. Fuck that.

When my DD walks into a changing room I don’t want her exposed to a bloody “lady penis” when she is a teenager I don’t want her embarrassed because there are men in all the space that are hers or having to play rugby against males, if she turns out to be a lesbian I don’t want her to have to deal with rapey gaslighting shit about how transwomen are women so she should really date one otherwise she’s probably a bigot, when she is an old woman I don’t want her to feel shame at wishing her personal care was done by a female.

Fuck that, all that, it’s a war on women and they can fuck right off.

whyhere · 07/03/2023 08:16

I will vote Labour, because what is the alternative....? But I find Keir Starmer totally lacking in drive and energy, and am so frustrated by the TWAW agenda.

Florenz · 07/03/2023 08:18

The holier than thou, condescending attitude of many people in the party. "How can poor people be so stupid and not vote for us?".

The fact that they elected Jeremy Corbyn as a leader and the fact that they thought it a good thing that people were singing his name at Glastonbury. The man invited the IRA round for tea and broke bread with Hamas.

I'm not a fan of politicians in general, I think they all could drop dead tomorrow and it would improve the country a great deal. I do think Labour will win the next general election but I don't think it will change very much.

I think the conservatives will win the next election. The UK is a deeply conservative country and we are two years out from a GE. The polls will narrow in 2024 and they always underestimate the conservative vote. That's the only reason why I'm not freaking out.

C8H10N4O2 · 07/03/2023 08:43

Forever42 · 07/03/2023 06:51

THEY’RE responsible for failing to make themselves electable.

Well, they are a good 20 points ahead in all the polls.

And the real problem for Labour is that the reason for that gap is nothing to do with Labour and everything to do with the Johnson/Truss shit show. If Sunak/Hunt manage to look as if they are pulling some improvements out of the bag before the next election that will shrink rapidly.

At that point, Labour will need all the old voters and activists who abandoned them in droves due to long running shit show whereby HM's Loyal Opposition spent a decade opposing itself instead of regularly scoring the bullseyes freely offered by the party in government. No party has been elected to run the country when it patently can't manage itself.

I denied I called anyone a money grabber. You made that up, amongst other misrepresentations. I spoke of financial self-interest

Okay.....I used a colloquialism to explain your position. Does not equate to making it up. You pointing view over several posts was made clear and available for all to see.

You haven't said why you think the Tories are a better option

I have explained my position from my first post on this thread. Feel free to read it.

rolled out cliches about Corbyn, who is an independent MP, without the whip. I've insulted no one, nor have I praised the Labour Party

Frankly you're on to a hiding to nothing if rolling out cliches is the best you've got. Your posts are full of them.

As for not insulting anyone 😂. Seriously the fact you can't even grasp the tone of your own posts is cringeworthy. You've pretty much insulted anyone and everyone who doesn't think like you....

I've also repeatedly stated that this ukip/Tory alliance is a threat to my country and that it isn't undemocratic to want rid of them. And brexit was very much about the dismantling of rights, openly so.

Of course it's not undemocratic to want to vote in an alternative. Not seen anyone suggest otherwise.

As for rights/Brexit I disagree. I say this as a remainer. It's "purpose" was to to quash the euro skeptic wing of the Tory party and it backfired massively.

I suspect your CLP experience may be similar to mine - local party infested with MC Momentum drones who can quote OJ and whose answer to anyone questioning Labour policy or considering any vote but Labour is to shout "you're a Tory " and tell them they are thick, its all the evil MSM, saint Jezzer was the true prophet etc etc.

I left my CLP for much that reason - been there before with Labour, it has to burn itself out and then we will see what is left. But as someone who has actually canvassed I know which messages drive engagement and which just turn people off. Telling voters they are thick, racist bigots isn't quite the voting strategy my current CLP seems to think.

KS showed us absolutely clearly that he was in agreement with the Scottish Parliament’s disastrous self -ID decision - with the only exception being the opening up of it to sixteen year olds.

By doing so he also showed us that even though he is a lawyer, he fails to see how this would further undermine the provisions in the Equality Act allowing single sex exceptions. He has said he will ‘modernise’ the GRA and this is what that means. He will summon his energy to drive through his TWAW agenda and throw sex based rights to the wolves of trans chaos.

It is worth trying to bolster the single sex exception laws now so they will clarify they mean biological sex only (not self -ID TWAW ‘sex’) by helping with this

@RufustheSpeculatingreindeer

How on earth is wanting the Tories out 'anti-democratic'? I think the current iteration of the Tory/UKIP party is extraordinarily dangerous for the Britain I love. I want them gone via democratic means. You don't want me to voice that opinion but say it's me who's not democratic.

Its not anti democratic to want the tories out….obviously

you telling me that I can’t vote for who i want to because it might not get the tories out is the anti democratic bit

to be very fair to you I completely agree that our current system makes that incredibly difficult and id say impossible in my area (ds1 will vote labour as it will almost definitely get the tories out where he lives)

but according to you if i vote with my conscience, and for the party i would actually think would be good for the country, then that makes me a tory…

but you’ll never see it so I’ll leave it here

JKRisGalileo · 07/03/2023 08:59

Their bloody misogyny.

RufustheSpeculatingreindeer · 07/03/2023 09:02

oh, and be-fucking-have with the ‘you don’t want me to voice that opinion’ tosh

A at no point at all have I said that you shouldn’t want the tories out
Or
B that you shouldn’t be allowed to say that you want the tories out
Or
C that you shouldn’t say that people should vote in the best way to get the tories out

Icandothattoo · 07/03/2023 09:06

You have to ask what do the Conservatives have to do to not get elected. They are pretty much indestructible, teflon coated you could say.
It's pretty disheartening to see the UK in the state it is and some quite happy
with it. I guess if you live in an affluent area, earning a decent wage, kids in good schools, well insulated from the cost of living crisis and never really venture out of that bubble, life is good. Still depressing that people can ignore the lack of moral integrity that this government has displayed and that anything Labour offer is worse.

CruCru · 07/03/2023 09:21

I am a floating voter. I grew up in Brighton where the Tories are Scum / Never Kissed a Tory message is fairly pervasive … and it has really turned me off the party.

Tony Blair is now rather controversial but he had a lot of interesting things to say - and he didn’t seem to have crowds of supporters who scream at anyone who didn’t vote for them.

I am sure those who bang the drum for “anyone not voting Labour being evil” are having a lot of fun but they discourage floating voters from supporting Labour.

I actually like Rishi Sunak (so far).

Yes, it is typically ideological and authoritarian which is the whole reason for wavering in the first place.
