To ask how much your summer 2023 holiday is costing?

I know things have changed since last year but wow. Even compromising the price is still wow. To the point I'd rather pay for exactly what I want than pay so much for the compromise.

I need to get some perspective I think on whats the going rate these days. I dont like to discuss money with family and friends so would rather ask here.

Would you share if you are having a holiday, what you are paying, family size, board and term time or not so I can work out if I am BU in my budget?

@Mademetoxic Libby has 5 holidays under 7 days, most people I know have 6 weeks of leave a year, 5 holidays is not "every month". The prices she is paying are completely plausible. You're coming across extremely bitter.

I’m guessing Libby is also a teacher as she seems to be sticking to school hols but doesn’t have DC, so annual leave not a problem!

Week in Cornwall - £700

I go away every month/every 5 weeks throughout the winter. I'm not lying. I'm sitting on a sun lounger on a balcony right now.

I live in a seaside UK destination so don't bother with a summer holiday but my sunshine breaks from October - April are what I save for. I don't drink, smoke or go out often as finding warm weather during bleak UK months is my priority.

"Stealth boost maybe. Because many people exaggerate on these boards and do not tell the truth.
Woops I am going to the moon too. I forgot to add that."

I don't think anyone is lying. Why would they be? You only need to look at social media in the holidays to see how much some families do.

If we didn’t have the kids we’d be going somewhere every couple of months. The person called out as must be lying was only spending £4.5k on all 5 trips. That’s going to be pretty affordable for some people. It’s less that plenty of families would spend on their 1 summer holiday 🤷🏼‍♀️
