5'3 and 8 and a half stone.
Would you say that is average and not 'tiny?'

Why is it so offensive to you that the OP is a normal weight and height?

I don't think anyone is offended by the ops weight and height. It's the faux naivety which I find tiresome

Anonymouseposter · 25/02/2023 12:00

It’s smaller than average. 5’3” is fairly short. The weight sounds in proportion to the height.

It’s not smaller than average! It IS average. 5’3” is the average height for women in the U.K. Her weight is fine and, as you say, in proportion to her height.

Zanatdy · 25/02/2023 12:06

Yes average for ideal weight v height

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 25/02/2023 12:08

BMI 21 is well below average weight although slim not skinny. 5'3 is also below average height but not very short.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 25/02/2023 12:09

I thought average height was 5'4.

Comedycook · 25/02/2023 12:11

Fwiw ..I'm 5'3". At school in the 1980/90s ...I was totally average. If I was at school today I'd be one of the shortest. I think the average is brought down by the older population. In 50 years time, I imagine average heights will be higher.

Depends on leg length. 5ft 4 family member is taller than me seated, short legs. 5ft friend has regular length legs.

Exactly. I’m about 5ft2 but petite trousers are all too short. Even the ones that are supposed to be for people under 5ft3. I’ve got standard size legs but the torso length of a 7 year old. My hip bones are higher than most of my friends, despite me being the smallest in overall height. I have basically no space between my hips and my ribs, so I had a friggin huge baby bump by like 16 weeks.

Gwenhwyfar · 25/02/2023 12:21

"Well, yes, of course it includes adult women of all ages. That’s what average means."

It's important to point out because OP is likely to be shorter than average for her age group, shorter than other women she meets at work, etc.

PinkRiceKrispies · 25/02/2023 12:22

I have a very ugly face if that helps.
Crap hair, massive nose etc. Definitely not gorgeous by any stretch of the imagination.
Only asked because it made me feel weird. Wish I had just googled it now, stupid to post on here and not expect a backlash.

I don't read any faux naivety. I think you're projecting that.

I know a good supportive group, OP. I'll PM you the link.

KirstenBlest · 25/02/2023 12:47

@PinkRiceKrispies , if your hair is crap, find a good hairdresser who will cut it to suit how it behaves - it's a game changer.
If you think your nose is big, look up Jennifer Gray's story, or look at Barbra Streisand - big nose but that's what made her beautiful. can you tell I have a big nose

People should not make unsolicited comments anbout other's appearance or height and weight.

You seem to be the right weight for your height, which is not remarkably short.

Where is your evidence for these “facts”? They are not correct. Average height is 5’3”. No idea about average BMI. OP hasn’t posted that, but she will be less than average weight but not tiny.

5ft 3 is the average height for women in the UK. It is also considered on the short side, given that women range from under 5ft to over 6ft.

21 is in the middle of the healthy BMI range, and barring complicating factors, is considered ideal.

The healthy BMI range is vast, some 3 st / 20 kg wide - it is a very exceptional person whose naturally healthy weight does not fall within it.

LolaFerrari · 27/02/2023 09:20

I'm.5 foot 3 and told I'm short all the time I think it's averagely small defo not tiny and many women my age 30s are the same and smaller.

Gwenhwyfar · 27/02/2023 12:00

"No idea about average BMI. OP hasn’t posted that, but she will be less than average weight but not tiny."

Yes, she has. She's posted her height and weight so we know her BMI. The average person in the UK is overweight so just by not being overweight she is slimmer than average.

LolaFerrari · 27/02/2023 18:53

And I'm 10 stone so I'm fat
