Dog people who use the B word

I’m not into dogs myself but I often come across people who are and especially amongst the more breeder-y/training/“Dog life” people they seem to take pride in using the B word (that rhymes with pitch) as much as possible and it turns my stomach.

I know that female dogs are technically called that but they seem to endlessly use the word even in contexts where it’s not relevant to mention the sex of the dog. For example “oh yes I was training my B the other day and my B made a mistake so I didn’t give my B a treat” And I’m like please just stop, call it a dog or by its name. You are just trying to be offensive.

It’s such a shame such a horrible word is used for two reasons but AIBU.

I can actually sympathise a tiny bit with the OP (not about the pitch-with-a-b word, because frankly that's just daft)- but...

From extensive research on those I know two people who own/drive Mercedes. (Mercedeses? Mercedei?) And they always talk about 'driving the Mercedes'/filling up the Mercedes/taking the Mercedes for its MOT'.

So I could see that being a tad wearing after a while.

When ds was a little toddler, he would say we had been “dogging” for walking the dog.

Or on a few occasions if someone asked where ex h was and he was out on a walk, “daddy is out dogging.”

On the whole my dog is lovely, but occasionally he's an utter cunt. I'm unsure if that's better for you?

Its equally derogatory to refer to a woman as a dog, so I don’t know what you call an animal of the canine variety be they male or female to avoid offence!

I don’t have a problem at all with the use of “bitch” for female canines but if someone refers to adult human females as “bitches” I immediately reply “Woof woof”.

These are people who just delight in saying the word and getting away with it. Everyone knows it's a derogatory term for women and some people just get kicks out of being able to say "forbidden" words with impunity and being offensive for the sake of it.
