To accept it or get motivated.
I have every reason to be motivated . But I'm not.

I've three kids, on my own , my knees and ankles are paining me, I've a back injury that can be healed woth walking and im single and would like to feel my best to look my best to meet someone one day.

I don't know how I got to this place.
I can carry two stone over. Im 5'7 but this is a new low for me.
Where do I even begin.

My mood is so low and I feel hopeless and full of despair for the future .
That chat we had was just the mail in the coffin.
AIBU to think I can do this in my own.
I can't afford a club or dietician.

I have so little time for planning or prep and as dr said to me ' once again, it's us women putting ourselves last and waking up unhappy with our weight and fitness one day'
All opinions appreciated and even a kick up the behind .
Thank you for reading.

I'm on divigel two sachets , have a mirena in recently and started back on oral urtogestrane 100mg as my mood was so awful after the insertion of mirena and I was bleeding a lot . I've reduced the two sachets to 1.5 as my breasts were sore and I gained weight very quickly .

Best of luck with everything OP. Can I recommend an app called "operation transformation". It is linked to a tv programme in Ireland of the same name which supports people of different body sizes and ages to lose weight with a combination of healthy eating and exercise. The app has loads of dietician approved meal plans and recipes and also exercise videos aimed at people starting from scratch and doing exercise at home. You never know some of it may be of use.

Thanks ! I watch it now and again and enjoy it . I am going to take things really slowly .
For example I've had a very upsetting and stressful meeting about one of my
Children. There were chocolate biscuits near my desk. All I wanted was chocolate biscuits but remembered I hadthree easy peelers and a low fat yog in the fridge.
I ate them instead.
Under normal circumstances I could swallow 6-7 no problem so I'm trying g to be mindful about what bang I'm getting for my calorie buck !
I'm away for the next few days in a mini break so I'm trying to plan ahead for this . There will be plenty of walking through .

It sounds like you are doing all the right things, OP. Making those choices over and over is the thing that will stand to you most, because what you want is for it to become habit, as that's what you'll need to get you through the times it will feel difficult.

I realised 2 things this week which shocked me about my own journey:

1- that I really wanted mint tea much, much more than I wanted beer or wine on my night out on Saturday night, and
2- that my rings are now loose. I know this because they fell off while I was washing my hands, for the first time in my 15 year marriage.

What have you discovered about yourself that's surprising you in a good way?

I lost 2 stone by reducing my portion size I was just overeating and started to eat just the recommended portion on things (it meant weighing done food at first) I could still eat what I liked just less of it!

You will be amazed at how many calories are in a portion , look online for visuals of what constitutes calories. Most weight loss is governed by what you eat and exercise is more for health, check out the weight loss forum here.

My sister lost 5 stone over 2 years, she has since put close to half a stone back on but is so much healthier. The change was amazing. Her life circumstances changed and she got rid of the stress, this stopped her emotional eating pattern, your description of wanting chocolate biscuits, that was just like her. She went to slimming world.

The women in my family all have disordered eating due to a very challenging childhood, we were all neglected and underfed, social services were involved with my family at one point. Three sisters over eat to be honest it’s probably going to contribute to an early death of one of my sisters eventually. The other two of us can’t eat when stressed so my younger sister has been seriously underweight. I probably came with the least disordered eating though I have been seriously underweight once but my DD had died and I did lose the plot.

Good luck.
