come on!! Be absolutely honest. how many of you have thrown that fleece over the top of your jimmys and done the school run?! I have many a time, in fact did it this very morning, but bit embarassing when the teacher came and asked me a question about DS and noticed the winnie the pooh sticking out the bottom of my jeans!

You mean he got dressed for work? Why didn't he just throw a coat over his pyjamas and set off?

Oh but he did, his tiggers will need a run thru the wash when he gets back. And by the way, i never said my kids are not washed and dont go to nursery in their pj's, just little old me!

I admit to doing this a couple of times when home on maternity leave with dd2 and taking dd1 to school. I felt a bit guilty about it though - i mean, if your kids are getting up and out to school for the day, then it seems a bit lazy to not get up properly yourself. I'm gone for work well before the school run these days so not an issue.

get dressed you lazy, lazy lot

Blimey, I've always got too much to do, not to get dressed first thing!

Lie in on the weekend till 8, but in the week we are all up at 6.40

Same was true when I was a SAHM, in fact in those days the kids were always up at 6 anyway!

But what was wrong with her, Janitor. Was she depressed or drunk or something?

Its better than making your poor child be late. So long as no one sees the jamas

What about if the car breaks down? Or you get stopped by police or have an accident?

I would be so ashamed and feel so smelly

I heard about people like you. Just thought it was an urban legend.

Poor kids. Breakfast in the car, being dropped off by mum in pyjamas.

Why on earth can't you set your alarm 20 mins earlier?

Conversebootmum - how do you wear 12 year olds clothes?

NO.

Report
expatinscotland · 07/02/2008 20:42

no reason for either - late or jimjams - if people just get their arse out of bed a little earlier.

ffs.

i'm on ADs just now and the one side effect they have is that it is dead hard to get out of bed in the morning. i used to be able to just spring right out.

but dd1 still needs to go to nursery.

so guess what?

i set the damn alarm a lot earlier!

duh!

want to lie in and schlepp around in your nightclothes all day?

don't have kids!

Okay I admit to being totally curious about this.

You don't wash or anything before the school run, obviously. Do you brush your hair and teeth? What happens after the school run? Do you go back home in your pyjama-clothes-combo or do you go to work afterwards? Assuming you go home, then what do you do? Go back to bed? Because it's only if you're going back to bed that this behaviour makes any sense.

I am a size 8 and so is my daughter (13 this month) mammyofET. We are both very tall.

I never said i was in my night clothes all day, back home by 9 and then in the bath is hardly all day, just busy sorting everyone else before I see to myself, nothing unusual in that!

So, is the general consensus, that I am a skanky lazy mum who should get up at 6 instead of 6.30 or carry on as I am?!

southeastastra - i love your idea! Might try that one tonight, bath now, in full dayclothes, high heels and makeup, and then off to bed, that'll please them all, and even better still, HOW DO I KNOW THAT ALL YOU LOT THAT SAY YOU GET DRESSED ETC IN THE MORNING ARENT GOING TO BED LIKE IT TOO!

Still puzzled here. I mean it's not terribly efficient is it? You get half dressed, then do a school run, then go back and get washed and dressed properly. Why not sort yourself out properly once?

You wake up at 6:30 and leave house at 8:45 but don't have the time to put on some clothes and your DS has to eat breakfast in the car???

Report
conversebootmum · 07/02/2008 20:59

Yes, thats it, can make a bit of a mess of his jumper, all that milk from his cereal slopping around when we go round the bends. No seriously, he does on occasion have a slice of toast as we go, and I have my mug of tea,
